The next day, Meera didn't go to the café.

Not at six.

Not at six-thirty.

Not even at seven.

She stayed inside her apartment, determined to prove something to herself.

You're not predictable.

That's what she kept repeating in her mind.

Aarav Rathore didn't control her routine.

He didn't get to sit there with that smug analytical face and assume he knew what she would do next.

"Ridiculous man," she muttered while pacing around her living room.

Her phone buzzed on the table.

Unknown number.

Meera frowned slightly and answered.

"Hello?"

A familiar voice came through the line.

Calm.

Steady.

Annoyingly composed.

"You're proving my point."

Meera froze.

"Aarav?"

"Yes."

"How did you get my number?"

"You left it on the research form at the seminar."

"That doesn't mean you're allowed to use it."

"You answered the call."

She exhaled slowly.

"Why are you calling me?"

"Because you're pacing."

Meera stopped walking immediately.

Her eyes narrowed.

"Where are you?"

"Balcony."

Her head snapped toward the large window facing the street.

Across the road, leaning casually against the railing of a nearby building's balcony...

stood Aarav.

Watching her.

Meera marched toward the window and opened it.

"You're unbelievable!"

His voice drifted across the distance calmly.

"You didn't come to the café."

"Of course I didn't!"

"Which means you're trying to break the pattern."

"Exactly."

Aarav tilted his head slightly.

"Unfortunately..."

He paused.

"That's also predictable."

Meera glared at him.

"Are you seriously spying on my apartment?"

"No."

"Then why are you there?"

"Because I knew you'd try to prove me wrong."

She crossed her arms against the window frame.

"You are completely insane."

Aarav smiled faintly.
