Akalchet was preparing for the last rights of Beeji when her mother came to him. Akalchet and Harman went to the room where Amrit was sitting looking oblivious. Akalchet went to her and sat there

“Do you know Amrit? When I was small my Bebbe always told me Akku never cry when dead. Celebrate it because I will go to a better place. I was little so I didn’t understand but when I came back from Columbia University she welcomed me greatly. I was very close to her but when I asked Papa that I want to be an entrepreneur he scolded me a lot. He wanted me to join our ancestral business. I fought with him in front of Bebbe and Mom. Papa denied me to give a single penny and I was so angry because I needed investors. I struggled to get investors but due to Papa’s name I didn’t get successful. It had been seven months since I was stressed when Bebbe came to my room and put some money in front of me. I looked at her when she told me that she was giving me her lucky charm money which she gave to Papa now she is forwarding it to me. I was glad to see the money but when I saw her eyes she was content. I denied but she didn’t take it back then for her happiness I took one note from it. Next day I got a call from one of my investors who was ready to give me finances and after that I never looked back. I was successful. My idea was a hit and soon I became popular. Elders are blessings AMrit. We should bid them your final bye with a smile. She spent her life for you. Now let her free. She needs you in her final journey. Sohniye please come. ”Akalchet asked her lovingly. Amrit saw him then stood up. He held her hand and completed the final ritual

It’s been seven days since Beeji's demise but Amrit has not changed. She was sitting looking oblivious. Akalchet completed all the rituals as per the Gurudwara with Amrit. But she was available there physically lost in her thoughts. Even she didn’t cry much which was making His mother worry. She needed to take it out. Harman and Akalchet both were thinking how to tackle Amrit as she was not responding.

Akalchet’s mother and father asked him to talk to her and make her understand but she was not responding. She became lighter and in the morning she even fainted due to low BP. Akalchet went to his room and found Amrit as per the same spot he last saw her. He was worried but this time he knew she lost her last family but he was also there.

“Amrit! Come have food.” She stood up and sat on the couch where Akalchet started to make her eat with his hands. SHe was robotically eating without even looking at Akalchet. He was watching her keenly.

“I will leave this house tomorrow morning.” AKalchet’s hand stopped in the mid air with morsel

“Come again?” his voice was calm like before the storm and frown was there. AMrit completed the last morsel and stood up when AKalchet pulled her into him

“I asked something Amrit dodn't test my patience.” he growled, making her scared but she was not getting release without clearing her words to him.

“Beeji is ..no..no more so I should go back.” Akalchet’s eyes became dark. He was understanding her situation but he was not ready to hear any nonsense from her.

“You are my wife, We are fucking married.” His last words were loud and clear. She jerked and jumped

“What do you want to prove?” She asked cowardly which he didn’t like a bit but now it was her time to come out of her grief and look for a new life.

“What do you want, AMrit? Beeji was happy with our marriage. What would she feel if you say like this?”

“I..I..d..don’t… know.s..she pro..promised me… to be with me but she broke it.” her voice trembled and complained like a kid.
