The campus evening cooled as we walked the familiar route toward our dorms, the city lights stitching a quiet ribbon along the way. The perfume lingered in the air between us, a soft imprint of the morning exchange, but nothing swelled beyond easy companionship and a shared plan.
I walked with brezzy beside me, and we were quiet, and it was quite peaceful. Sometimes she is too peaceful, but then in the next moment, she proves me wrong, unpredictable. I felt the cold, subtle breeze on my face as I opened my eyes a little and saw a figure walking ahead of us in the garden, heading in the same direction. I figured it was similar to Blyana; it kinda made me excited and curious, and then I lost track of time. And I got back to being in parallel with time by hearing Blyana's voice.
Brezzy caught up with Carson's eyes and called Blyana over, but shouting wasn't enough cause she had earphones plugged in her ears, so Brezzy had to make a quick run to the garden to call her over.
The breeze was strong, cold, but somehow still hit my body subtly; it held that power to shut the world out and let you enjoy nature and life. This peaceful moment was rare because it was always interrupted by some uninvited audience, just like this one, and I am seriously not in the mood for this bullshit.
I was caught in the middle of my calming walk in nature by a negative character in my pure main character moment, an antagonist in my precious life, but I was raised with a lot of morality inculcated in me, so I turned back with a straight face, not only to see the antagonist but also the other protagonist of my life for now.
I take my earphones out, trying to keep a straight face, and Brezzy asks if I would like to join them for a walk towards the campus dorms, and I was gonna head back later, but walking with Carson is quite an exquisite opportunity for my heart, and my heart sometimes influences my mind.
They walked towards the dorms quietly, and now it was a little awkward as Brezzy walked in between Blyana and Carson, and, quitting the silence brezzy asked Blyana about her crazy morning entry on a superbike, and it sounded kinda stupid to Blyana.
"Hey, by the way, you looked really cool on the bike earlier."
"Thank you!"
Again, the silence spread in the air, awkwardness flooded them, but to break this silence, Brezzy asked Blyana
"But why suddenly?"
Blyana wanted to give a bad answer, but Carson was hearing her, and she had been giving Brezzy a bad attitude, so the tension was awkward.
"Uhmm, that's kinda personal..."
" Ohh noo, you're just making excuses.."
" Why does it matter anyway?..."
"Ohh, it does, did you-did you get a boyfriend?"
This question turned the small convo into an intense one for Carson, and we all should know that Brezzy's intention of getting Blyana there was this: to wreck her in front of him, somehow.
But Blyana calmly replied, chuckling, "Huhhh, noo, "
"Than what, girl? Tell me."
"I don't know, I just had a good morning."
"Are you sure? I seriously think that one boy could've made your day."
"Huhhh"
It felt quite confusing, but then it struck: Brezzy is quite capable of knowing, and now all eyes were on her. Carson was curious who it could be, feeling deprived suddenly, and Blyana was tensed, what if Brezzy actually revealed who it was?
In the tense moment, everyone was quiet, waiting for her response, then she opened her mouth and the tension grew, both were looking at Brezzy, and their eyes met in the moment, hyping the tension between them.
"Isn't it, Drave?"
Brezzy said Drave because she knew that Carson liked Blyana, but she wanted to create a misunderstanding between them and make Carson feel hurt, so that he would get over Blyana, and there was a big rumor back in the day that Blyana and Drave were dating, which started because Drave liked Blyana.
But the rumor was cliché.
Blyana sighed hard, relief bursting in her veins, then she looked over to Carson and brezzy saying, "No, that was just a rumor, and it's so old, how can you believe that?"
Brezzy, hearing this, looked at Carson secretly. She caught him breathing in relief, but this quite backfired on her, and she could not let this chance go off; she had to do something.
Brezzy replied, "But we were in the class today, and he told me that you were so cool today, because you slept together."
Brezzy had to drop a bombshell, but it could be so low that no one was expecting it.
"What? He said that?"
"Well, I guess yes, did you?"
"Obviously, Noo."
Hearing this, Carson had some mixed emotions; he was sad, furious, and shocked. He couldn't stand Blyana and some other guy's name in one sentence like that, let alone them being talked about together, but he calmed himself down, not losing his composure; he maintained that nonchalant walk, But the tension was definitely there.
Blyana felt quite bad that this had turned out this way, but at least it wasn't unexpected; at least she had an idea of it coming. She knew that if Brezzy called her out and invited her to walk with them, it was a little sus.
Feeling satisfied, Brezzy walked confidently as if she had won something.
They walked for another minute, and they reached the entrance of the girls' dorms. Brezzy went ahead, bidding Carson goodbye, but she saw that Blyana was not coming along, so she asked, "Hey, you are not coming?"
"I don't live in the dorms."
"Where do you live, resident society nearby?"
She looked at Carson, confused as if asking him something. Carson cleared her obvious confusion by saying, "Yeah, where I live." Brezzy's confident face dropped, and now she regretted calling Blyana to walk with them.
She awkwardly said goodbye and went in after successfully creating unnecessary tension and failing.
Carson turned to Blyana's side awkwardly."So, how are you getting home?"
"By bike." "How are you getting home?"
"Walking," saying this, he almost turned around as if he was in a hurry to leave.
"Hey, I can drop you off at home, either way we are going the same place."
He stopped on his track and looked at her. He was not exactly feeling like being with her, after that, but possibly could not show it, so he thought for a while, and eventually said yes.
