Chapter Four: The Most Interesting Night!
I was standing near a corner in the hallway watching all the dwarves sitting at the table eating with no table manners. Bilbo kept his eyes on the unexpected guests as they ate and threw food at each other. I decided to go and sit in the room with the fireplace, while I drink and draw. Before I went into the other room I saw Dori with a pot of some sort of tea, I thought, so I decided to ask him about it.
"Master Dwarf, may I ask what you have in the tea pot?" I said softly not wanting to scare him.
"Its Chamomile!" His eyes seemed to light up when I asked him. "Would you like a cup?" He asked sweetly with a sparkle in his eye.
"If you wouldn't mind Master dwarf!" I replied walking closer to receive the cup from his hand.
"Oh please, you can just call me Dori!" He smiled handing me the cup of tea and walking into the kitchen with a small smile on his face.
Once I had taken a sip of my tea I realized how much I missed having a place to call home. I mindlessly sat down on the sofa and started to sketch another drawing, but my mind was not in my drawing it was in my memories and the past.
Before I knew it my tea was gone and my drawing was half done. That's when I heard one of the Dwarves say something about drinking, but I shook it off. I went back to my sketch not noticing the blond dwarf sauntering in with two mugs of ale in his hands.
"Scarlet what are you doing in here all alone again?" He asked handing you one of the two mugs that were in his hands.
"I don't know I guess I'm not a fan of being around big groups of people. No disrespect to you or any of your friends!" I replied realizing my behavior ever since they all got here.
"None taken, but why don't you like being around other people?" He asked sitting down next to me on the sofa slinging his arm across the back of it. His actions made my cheeks turn a shade of pink, and that didn't go unnoticed by Fili because he smirked for a fraction of a second.
"I-It's a long story." I replied looking into his light blue/green eyes. Once I looked up I got lost in his crystal stare, and I forgot what I was going to add.
"What?" He chuckled.
"N-Nothing, Sorry!" I replied instantly looking away from his eyes.
"Don't apologize for something that didn't hurt!" He smirked as my cheeks became even redder. "I should probably help them all clean up!" And with that Fili leaned over and kissed my cheek, got up and walked into the other room. After he left the room my hand went up to my cheek and it was very warm, from Fili's touch. I felt a spark light up inside me that I had never felt before.
'What is happening to me? Why did he do that?' I had so many questions dancing through my mind, but I couldn't answer any of them.
~ Time-Skip ~
Many minutes past and so did a very entertaining song, but after Fili had left to help clean up my mind wandered into my memories once more making me lose track of time completely. It wasn't until the dwarves started to migrate into the room I was in, that I came back to the present. Thorin was the first to come into the room giving me a soft smile as he passed me standing next to the fireplace leaning on the mantle. The next dwarves to enter were Ori, Bofur, and Gloin. Fili follow them and he sat next to me on the sofa along with Kili on the other side. Bofur gave me a mischievous smirk as they sandwiched me in between the both of them.
As the last of the dwarves filtered into the room they all started humming together in a beautiful harmony that sent shivers down my spine. I knew dwarves would sing when they drink, but I never knew they could actually sing this beautifully! When Thorin started singing all I could do was stare into his eyes, and when Fili and Kili started to sing along beside me was the point where I wanted to hug them all, but I didn't dare!
