Chapter Three Part Two

Maya sat in her room after the whole bathroom thing that happened with Riley. Though she didn't feel bad about the kiss or leaving Riley there. She did wonder what Riley was doing though but she wondered that everyday she wasn't hanging out with her. Maya sighed as she lied back in her bed pulling her blue blanket over her. Her mother soon called up to Maya that a friend was here, Maya being confused normally she would say Riley was here. Knowing it probably wasn't Riley she went down stairs to the front door opening to reveal Lucas, quickly shutting the door in his face. Lucas knocked on the door a few times and waited. Maya opened the door and rolled her eyes, "what do you want Ranger Rick?" She crossed her arms. "What did you do to Riley? She ran out of the bathroom after you left and wouldn't talk to anyone." He snapped. Maya uncrossed her arms, "that's none of your business what happened in that bathroom now anything else before I slam the door shut in your cowboy face?" She smiled. Lucas pushed his way in through the door, "tell me or I won't leave." He glared down at her him being taller. Maya sighed, "why do you care? She's not your best friend she's nothing to you but some girl you met on the subway." Maya said. Lucas stared at Maya, just then Maya moved to push him out the door but he quickly shut the door and stood in front of her, "I care because she's Riley, and I Lucas love her. Yeah we just met and all but I still love her." He sighed. Maya rolled her eyes, "I don't care if you love her. I only care if she loves you now get out of my house sundance." She opened the door behind him and shoved him out. Lucas sighed and walked down the pathway to Maya's house. Making his way home, he saw Riley standing at his door. Riley was looking down as she waited for someone to answer the door yet no one would because no one was home. Lucas walked over to Riley and lifted her chin, "you okay? Talk to me." He said sitting down on the steps. Riley sat down with him and sighed, "stuff was said in that bathroom thats all. I just wanted to tell you that I don't want to talk about it. Ever. Okay?" She told him. Lucas nodded, "I respect that. I respect you." He looked down at Riley. Riley smiled, "I respect you too." She looked up at Lucas. Lucas smiled though he felt a little weird just looking at each other, "so." He scratched his head. Riley looked down as if she was in thought for a moment then quickly she looked at Lucas and leaned in giving him a quick peck on the cheek, "I have to go talk to Maya about something. Tomorrow dinner right?" She got up and smiled. Lucas was shocked at the kiss and looked up at Riley as she stood up him still sitting he nodded, "yeah." He said with a smile. Riley took her time as she walked over to Maya's house. Knocking on her door Maya's mother answered, "oh she's in her room." She let Riley in. Riley smiled, "thanks Ms.Hart." She said making her way upstairs to Maya's room knocking on her door, "Maya?" Riley called through the door. Maya sat up slowly, "come in." She said quietly. Riley slowly opened the door coming in shutting the door behind her she went and on Maya's bed. "Riley? What are you doing here if you're not gonna even talk to me." Maya sighed. Riley looked at Maya, "Maya. I don't know the best way to say this because I didn't do research but you my best friend. I don't want you to be my bestfriend. I want to ruin our friendship Maya." She looked down. Maya moved to the edge of the bed, "this is about the bathroom isn't it. Just forget it please. I don't want to lose you Riley. You're my only close friend." Maya's voice cracked and pitched. Riley looked at Maya and smiled, "will you be my girlfriend. But you can't be controlling Maya I mean it. I can still hang out with Lucas and other people other than you." Riley said looking at Maya who's face went from confused to relief. "Yeah, sure, whatever." Maya looked down. Riley smiled and kissed Maya's cheek, "good." She stood up. "Now I have to get home, homework is due in Ms.Kim's class already." She rolled her eyes walking out of Maya's room and making her way home. Maya smiled as she sat on her bed I never thought it could be. But I know with Lucas around it'll all just get ruined. I better live it while I can. Maya thought as she lied down in her bed looking up at her ceiling that had pictures taped up of Riley and Her together. "I don't want it to end." Maya said to herself. Closing her eyes she hugged her pillow close and slowly fell asleep.
