Chapter Six

Maya was laying in her bed still alive she couldn't sleep though she refused to throw up she held the bottle of a few pills left in her palm as she lied in bed. Riley on the other hand was getting ready for the day showering putting on a black shirt with a picture of a cat ironed on it, a pair of camouflage leggings and combat boots. Something in her stomach just didn't sit right she decided to go over to Maya's she wanted Maya at school with her today no matter what. On her way to the subway she ran into Lucas, "can't talk have to see Maya." She said walking past Lucas to get on the subway that just stopped. Getting on she stood in the middle holding onto the pole. Waiting as patiently as she could finally it came to the stop closest to Maya's house getting off the subway she rushed to Maya's house walking in she noticed it was quiet, "well thats like Maya." She smiled as she made her way to Maya's room before walking in she thought a entire plan in her head then walking in she went and jumped on Maya's bed to realize the note and the bottle of pills, "Maya?" She sat up slowly and shook Maya. "Maya! Wake up!" Riley cried as reached in her bag pulling out her phone she called 911, "it's my best friend Maya! She-she-she took a-a-lot of pills I need help." She said as she was trying her best not to freak out. Telling the cops the address she waited at the door as she read through Maya's letter. The police shows with an ambulance pulling Maya into the ambulance taking Riley with seeming Maya's mother wasn't back yet. The police called Riley's parents letting them know that they were taking Riley and Maya to the hospital due to Maya's lack of life pretty much. Soon enough Riley, her mom, her dad and her little brother Auggie sat in the waiting room. Riley had saw them plug things into Maya maybe to vacuum out the pills because she wouldn't wake up to throw them up. About 2 hours later the doctors came out, "we have some good news and some bad news." He said. Riley jumped up, "bad news first." She looked up at the doctor. The doctor backed up, "well, Maya's mother can not make it tonight to see her but she should be here tomorrow. The good news is Maya is alive, but she is in A Coma. You can go see her if you want, if you talk to her she can hear you." The doctor smiled. Riley nodded and rushed into Maya's hospital room going and standing at the edge of her bed grabbing hold of Maya's hand, "Maya. I love you. I love you and only you. I realized that last night. You know what's funny, I walked to your house this morning I had this whole plan in my mind I would walk in your room and just jump on your bed give you a hug and tell you all these wonderful things as they came to my head then at the end I would have kissed you and told you how much I love you. I just, I can't be without you Maya. Please don't go." Riley cried as she stared down at Maya's body. "You know it's almost as if you're just in a deep sleep like you always do. I'm sure you're happy being sleep. With all the dreams and stuff. I'll just be quiet because i'm sure my voice just pops in your dreams. I love you Maya and i'll be here all night every night until you wake up." Riley kissed her forehead before going and sitting on a chair in Maya's hospital room. "Sweetheart? Are you ready to go. We have to go home soon." Topanga, Riley's mother came into the room and asked. Riley shook her head, "I promised Maya many times and I keep breaking them I promised her that no matter what i'm going to stay by her side until she wakes up and when she wakes up I will always be here. I'm sleeping here and waking up here until she wakes up and leaves with us." Riley said glaring at her mother a serious look on her face. Topanga nodded slowly, "I will just have the nurse drop off some food for you and we will be back tomorrow, okay?" Topanga told her daughter. Riley nodded, "thank you." She smiled. Days and days went by each night and day Riley was in the hospital room talking to Maya. Soon days turned into weeks after 3 weeks Maya moves. The next day she woke up, she was hungry man was she hungry. "Maya?" Riley stood up when she heard Maya's cough. Getting excited it's been so long that Maya had been asleep. "Riley?" Maya's voice was quiet as she spoke. "It's me Maya." Riley smiled grabbing her hand. "It's always going to be me. I will always be here for you I promise. No more Lucas. No more anyone just you." Riley cried a little as she spoke. Maya looked up at Riley and smiled slightly, "I love you too. Can you call in the nurse? I kind of want some food." She smiled to Riley. Riley nodded and pressed a button on a controller for the nurse, "yes what seems to be your request?" The nurse called through a speaker. "Maya's awake. She says she's hungry." Riley said softly into the speaker. The nurse rushed into the room with doctors making Riley leave the room by force, "i'll be back Maya! I swear I will." Riley called as she went to sit in the waiting room, an hour went by and Riley was allowed into Maya's hospital room. "What happened? Did they feed you? Are you okay? What happened?" Riley asked going quickly to her bedside. Maya looked up at Riley, "yeah the fed me. Yeah im fine. They haven't gotten a hold of my mom since the day I was put here why hasn't she come to see me? Riley why didn't you even tell me?" Maya sat up. Riley looked down, "I don't know why she hasn't been here but I didn't want to tell you she hasn't came because you just woke up you might have freaked out." She sighed. Maya pushed Riley's chin up, "it's okay. You only wanted to protect me. I understand that, I respect that." She smiled. Riley looked at Maya, "good. When can you get out?" Riley asked sitting on Maya's bed. "When your parents get here. I go home with you. Today." She smiled. Riley smiled, "oh great! We can do makeup and dress-" Maya cut off Riley, "yeah Riley no. None of that, and I mean none of that is happening. I am not drawing you another unicorn either." Maya said. Riley opened her mouth to speak only for Maya to place her finger over Riley's mouth, "Shhh." Maya made the shushing noise everytime Riley tried to speak. Eventually Riley giving up Maya smiled, "thank you." She lied back on the bed. "But!" Riley said. Maya rolled her eyes and sat on her elbows, "why? Why must you continue." Maya sighed. Riley smiled, "because I want a unicorn drawing." She smiled batting her eyes. "Fine. Fine. Fine." Maya sighed. 2 hours of talking 1 hour of sleeping until Riley's parents showed up, Maya and Riley first went into the kitchen grabbing loads of cold foods and a tub of ice cream and instantly went into Riley's room, "save some for the house." Topanga sighed. "We will!" Maya yelled down before shutting Riley's door. Riley smiled, "movie night?" Maya nodded, "Movie night." She smiled and put in the first movie, Triple Dog. That night tons of movies were watched soon came 3:00 in the morning, "Maya?" Riley said looking over to her side at Maya. "Riley." Maya said looking up. Riley leaned over and kissed her, "I never want us to end." She smiled kissing her again before laying down and shutting her eyes. Maya was shocked and touched her lip, "wow what a good move you made." Maya laughed and leaned down kissing Riley before laying down and shutting her eyes. Placing her arm over Riley.

AN- Yeah... This story was no interesting at all really i'm sorry. I do have a better one coming soon. Though it's not really a Fanfiction.
