Love is a Lie

His eyes were Hazel,
His soul was pure,
His smile was addictive,
I'm in love I'm sure.

His hands held mine,
His kiss filled me,
His arms protected me,
It filled others with envy.

In that moment,
Everything was pure,
Love guided us,
Or so I was sure.

Then It all stopped,
Disaster stroke,
Our hands fell,
And I awoke.

It was all a dream,
I closed my eyes,
I want to go back,
Back to a world filled with lies.

All I could see,
When I started to dream,
Where those hazel eyes,
That aren't what they seem.

I tried to find you,
I searched my mind,
I looked into my heart,
But you, I couldn't find.

You are a memory,
One I'll keep,
I guess our love,
Was too big of a leap.

And so I say,
One last goodbye,
To our love,
That was a lie.
