Lifting the veil

26 2 2

My will is strong. Lies.

My will is great. Lies.

I breate with happiness. Lies.

I am blind to the truth. True.

-----------------------------------------

The water over my head is drowning,

The chiming in my ears is deafening,

I open my eyes.

The veil over my head have been lifted,

At least one of some,

I see his red eyes, I see his offer,

I hear what he says is to come.

I see the old and the young struggling,

I see them all.

I see their cities crumbling,

I see their countries fall.

My will is weak,

My will is dying,

Everybody is blind,

No man is trying.

They cannot fix what they can't see, true,

But they know it, always,

They know because of you.

You have lifted my veil,

Offering a warm embrace,

You have shown me the truth,

Yet I cannot see your face.

I see your eyes though,

Those eyes that taunt,

I see them just as I see their eyes,

Their eyes that haunt.

The memory of the truth,

The memory of their smiles,

It gives me shivers,

Yet guides me in a world of trials.

Their lies are evident if you only looked,

It's in their smiles,

Their eyes,

Their voices,

All lies.

Broken promises and stolen happiness,

Both done by you.

At least that's what I see,

In this world of black and blue.

Yet, what I realize, Something true,

I am among them,

This I once knew.

I knew and I hid,

I pushed and pushed,

Until the truth was gone,

What was left, squished.

But that was then,

This is now.

My eyes are open.

See me as I am.
