My Journey, My End

(I was feeling adventurous)
It all started on the day,
My friends came over,
And we decided to play.

Hide and seek was the game,
Adventure wasn't the only rule,
I only followed one,
I was a fool.

'Stay away from the creek',
My mother said,
But that was my hiding place,
So I went instead.

Once they said 'go' I started to run,
I ran passed the trees,
And hid behind the creek's bushes,
Then I heard a sneeze.

I turned around slowly,
And saw a man,
He was very tall,
And had a red hand.

'What are you doing?',
He asked me three times,
I still didn't answer,
So he began his rhymes.

'You understand what you have done,
Now you have no time to run,
You understand what this means,
They will not hear your screams.'

His rhyme frightened me,
So I stood up and tried to run,
I yelled and screamed,
But they didn't come.

His style was different,
He was very strong,
He killed me instantly,
I should have listended all along.

They found my body two days later,
Right outside the house,
My mother screamed when she saw me,
For I was being eaten by a mouse.
