I barely made it through my front door before the reality of what had just happened hit me like a freight train.
Korbin's bedroom. His hands on me. Inside me. The way he'd looked at me while I—
"Oh my God," I whispered, my back pressed against the closed door. My legs were still shaky, my body still humming with the aftershocks of what we'd done.
I dropped my backpack and practically ran to my room, throwing myself face-first onto my bed. The pillow muffled my scream, but barely. I screamed again, louder this time, my face burning with a mixture of embarrassment, shock, and something else I didn't want to name.
What had I done?
No—what had we done?
I rolled onto my back, staring at my ceiling, my heart still racing. I could still feel him. Still taste him. The memory of his fingers inside me, the way he'd commanded me to look at him while I came, the rough desperation in his kiss—it all played on repeat in my mind like a movie I couldn't pause.
"Fuck," I breathed, covering my face with my hands.
The worst part? I didn't regret it. Not even a little bit.
I should have. Korbin was arrogant, spoiled, infuriating. We'd barely been able to stand each other a few weeks ago. And now... now I'd let him touch me in ways no one else ever had. I'd begged him not to stop. I'd fallen apart in his arms and loved every second of it.
But what if he regretted it?
The thought made my stomach twist. What if tomorrow at school he acted like nothing had happened? What if he went back to his usual smirking, dismissive self, treating me like I was just another girl who'd given him what he wanted?
I grabbed my pillow and screamed into it again.
I barely slept that night. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Korbin's face—the way he'd looked at me with such raw hunger, the way his voice had gone rough when he told me I was wet for him, the way he'd smiled afterward, genuine and vulnerable in a way I'd never seen before.
By the time my alarm went off, I was exhausted and terrified.
Getting ready for school felt like preparing for battle. I changed my outfit three times, finally settling on jeans and a soft blue sweater that made me feel slightly more confident. I spent extra time on my makeup, then immediately regretted it because what if he thought I was trying too hard?
"Get it together, Seraii," I muttered to my reflection.
But I couldn't. My hands were shaking as I grabbed my backpack. My stomach was in knots as I drove to school. And by the time I pulled into the parking lot, I was seriously considering just turning around and going home.
