The night sky and moon glowed brightly as Jenny slowly made her way up to her front porch, a tired look etched across her face.

Jenny: Another day draining my battery... and I still found absolutely nothing...

She let out a long groan as she unlocked the front door and stepped inside her empty home, shrugging her backpack off and letting it slump against the wall.

Jenny: And I still have an three page essay to finish. Oh my goooosh...

She tossed her keys onto the couch and flipped on the lights, only to spot an unopened pizza box sitting on the dining room table making her frown.

Jenny: That stubborn idiot is seriously gonna starve himself out there.

Jenny huffed as she scrolled through her contact list, her frustration growing at the long string of unanswered calls she'd made to Y/n before her finger hovered over the call button.

Jenny: Should I...?

After a brief hesitation, she tapped his name and tried calling again... only to jump when Y/n's ringtone suddenly blared from the other side of the door.

Y/n: Jenny! Yo, Jenny, open the door! Hello?!

His tired voice carried through the wood, and she immediately rushed over, yanking the door open with a frustrated glare.

Jenny: Where the heck were you, bonehead?! I've been calling you for what? Two weeks now?! And you still-

Her words suddenly died in her throat as she froze at the sight of her bewildered friend.

Y/n: What? Something on my face?

Y/n stood there, completely disheveled. His hair stuck out in every direction, and the dark blue circles under his eyes made it look like he was wearing smudged makeup.

Y/n: Aww, I didn't know you missed me this much.

He gave her a weak smile, rubbing one of his eyes.

Y/n: Sorry for not picking up your calls. My phone's been dead since, like... last Wednesday.

Jenny: Y/n... just how long have you been out there? You look like you haven't slept at all...

Jenny gently grabbed his face, pulling him down to her level as she inspected his eyes, her frustration melting into worry.

Jenny: Have you been eating? Showering?

Y/n: Y-Yeah.

Y/n's cheeks flushed red as he pulled away.

Y/n: Don't worry-I have. I made a few pit stops at my apartment to get clean and change clothes. I don't wanna smell like death anytime soon.

Jenny: And what about eating?

Y/n: Uh... sometimes I grab something from the store.

Jenny: And when was "sometimes"?

Y/n: T-Three... three days ago...

He mumbled as his stomach growled, letting out a nervous chuckle under Jenny's stern gaze. Without a word, she pointed toward the dining room.

Jenny: There's food on the table. Go eat.

Y/n: But I don't-

Jenny: NOW.

Jenny's tone made it clear there was no room for argument. Y/n raised his hands in surrender before quickly making his way to the dining table.

Jenny: Stubborn bull....

Jenny grabbed him a plate..... only to pause as she watched him immediately start scarfing down the cold pizza straight from the box, making her grimace.
