"I love LA". Michael couldn't hold back a loud laugh. I've only been here for an hour. I haven't seen anything except the airport, which was huge and busy. We were still waiting for our luggage. The air was hot and humid and people around me didn't seem too happy about that. I, for my part, didn't care. I was finally here. Throughout the whole flight I tried to picture myself in this vibrating city. I knew I'd have to change my appearance to fit in better but I was ready to do all it took to make this year the best year of my life.

When our bags finally arrived, we grabbed them and headed out to catch a cab. Brian wanted to pick us up but he was busy teaching his master class so all we had was the address of my new home Brian gave to Michael. We got in the cab and drove off. After 20 minutes we arrived in this small neighborhood and although it was already 7 pm the streets were still buzzing. There were people everywhere, sitting on their front porches, having barbecue or just casually relaxing and enjoying the evening cool. Today has been hot and I felt quite uncomfortable. In my mind I was going through each item of clothing that was in my bags. I definitely needed to get some more summer clothes if I wanted to survive the hot temperatures.

We thanked the cab driver who took our bags out and walked up the front porch. The house was lit-up so I knew that my roommates were at home. Brian told me I'd be sharing the apartment with two other dancers, two very nice girls named Sophie and Lauren. I was really excited to meet them and hoped that they would like me. I knocked on the door hesitantly and looked over to Michael. Brian would be coming to pick him up and take him to his place, where he could crash for a few days. I was glad he was with me, I don't know if I could've done all of this without his help. After all this was my first big trip, I had to remind myself.

A gorgeous and tan girl opened the door and smiled.

"You must be Alyssandra. Brian said you would be coming today. I'm Lauren."

"Hi Lauren, yes it's me. You can call me Aly. This is Michael, my dance teacher from London."

"Hi Michael. Come on in. Let me help you with those bags."

The apartment looked really nice. It was actually pretty big. I thought it might be something smaller where everyone would be bumping into each other but this was a nice surprise. A short cute girl with brown curls came out the kitchen smiling.

"You must be Alyssandra, right? I'm Soph."

"Yes, hi! You can call me Aly by the way. And this is Michael, a friend of Brian and my dance teacher from London."

Right as I said that there was a knock on the door. Lauren went to get it.

"Speaking of the devil."

"Hi LB," Brian said. "I see you girls already met Aly and Michael. I'm afraid but you can only keep one of them," he joked.

"Well I guess then we pick Aly," Sophie said. "Sorry Mike."

"No problem." He said, smiling one of his big gorgeous smiles. Yes, I had a little crush on him. No wonder. He was tall, lean but muscular and he was a great dancer.

"Girls I'll let you three alone. Make sure Aly feels at home. She'll be staying for quite a while."

And with that Brian and Michael left. But not before I got to hug Michael goodbye and thank Brian for the amazing opportunity he gave me.

"Not too fast there Aly. You might regret it if you see how hard he's going to make you work" the girls said at once.

I laughed, waved goodbye and closed the door.

"Whew! Finally alone. So Aly you wanna see your room now?" Lauren asked.

"Of course. I'd love to."
