A year later...

Aly returned to that place where it all began. The boys where wrapping up the US leg of their world tour in a couple days. It's been exactly a year ago since their show in LA. Exactly one year after Zayn finally opened up about his feelings towards her.

A lot happened since then. A lot changed. No, Zayn was still tied to Perrie. But he bought another house. One for Aly. A house where they could be all lovey dovey with each other without having to bother about the paps. Zayn would let Aly pick out all the furniture so she'd feel at home.

And she did. Aly felt at home. For the first time since she left the UK three years ago she felt at home.

Now she was back in her second home, Los Angeles. Oh how she missed this place. It was always warm here and the people were always cheery. She paid for the taxi and got out. She stood in front of the house she called her home for nearly two years. Soph had no idea she was coming, but she knew Aly was on tour with her boyfriend and his band.

Aly walked up the 5 steps that led to the big front porch. Memories came in her mind of the day she arrived here with Michael. How great Soph and Lauren were with her. She also remembered that night she went out with Mike. How he kissed her goodnight and how she was surprised by the boys when she opened the door.

Aly debated whether to use her key Soph made her keep or knock on the door. She picked the latter. This was a surprise after all.

She knocked twice on the door and waited.

"Coming." Soph's voice sounded muffled.

"Why did it took you so- Aly!!!!!!! OMG! ALY!" She squeezed me tight and when she let go of me my whole body hurt.

"I knew you'd come!" She added.

"Really? How so?"

"Well, you're obviously on tour with the boys, I saw all your Instagram photos." She stated.

"Aaaand...?"

"And I figured you'd also want to visit your old neighborhood again." Soph finally said.

"Exactly."

"Come in. We need to catch up." She grabbed my hand and ran towards the kitchen. From the corner of my eye I studied the house. Nothing changed.

"It's looks exactly the way I left it!"

"Strange, isn't it? To be coming back after a year and to find everything as you left it. The only thing I did was to clean up your room. I thought I was gonna get a new house mate but so far I'm living alone." She concluded and took a deep breath.

"Really? Cause it seemed like you were expecting someone else?"

Soph avoided my look.

"Yup. We definitely have to catch up."

Soph laughed nervously.

"Would you like to start?" I asked her.

"Well, the truth is I kind of have a house mate."

"Let me guess. A guy." I saw a sports bag in the foyer. No way was that hers!

"A guy that also happens to be your boyfriend...maybe?"

Soph touched the tip of her nose with her index finger.

"Who is it, Soph. Spill it!"

"I can't tell you. You'll get mad." She simply said.

"Why should I? What if he walks in on us right now? Don't you want me to be prepared?"

Soph sighed. She took a deep breath and squeezed her eyes shut.
