ALRIGHT EVERYBODY LETS RUN ITTTTT

TIME FOR ONE OF THE TOP TEN MOST ICONIC MOMENTS IN THE SHOW RAHHHH

(Sorry for the late delivery, again – But I'm pretty proud of this one, so I hope you enjoy :))))

Happy reading!! <3333

The soles of Luffy's sandals slide awkwardly against the smooth turquoise pyramid, unable to find their grip on the decorative feature, which caps each marble column like miniature rooftops. He'd jumped atop the rock with blood caking his hands, sticky between the webs his fingers, coating his knuckles in dried flakes. Staring determinedly up at the building, there's not a doubt in the captain's mind that his crew's missing member is behind those pearly walls. The last destination.

The captain sucks in a deep breath, dense in his lungs;

"Robin!" Bellowing into the sky with arms bared, eyes closed in earnest, the boy's straw hat nearly tips from its crowning position. "I've come to get you!"

Well, if Robin couldn't hear him, then everyone else on the whole damn island must've heard him instead. Luffy always put all his energy into every little thing, so it shouldn't have been a surprise for his volume to be the same – ricocheting off of buildings just like his rubbery abilities.

From my spot, tucked against the sharpened corner of the same column he's stood upon, I can make out my soulmate's stomach growling. I watch as a tanned palm comes to slap blindly at his torso, awaiting Robin's response or whoever else's that was able to provide.

"I guess I've been running around a lot, huh." In the midst of his contemplation Luffy reaches into his pockets. "Good thing I came prepared..."

Confusion slows my train of thought, and I recognize his goal too late, soon horrified when I turn my attention to the bulging, greasy-soaked cloth.

Grabbed by the bone like a handle, the boy has to wiggle them a few times to squeeze them from their confines. When they do come free, Luffy waves them forward and above his head in triumph, slinging chunks and oil along the way.

"...with a meal!"

Grimacing, I can't avoid the twinge of disgust when the boy lowers one into his mouth – widened and unhinged as a snake's – to tear everything from the bone in one motion. The remains are cast aside once deemed inedible, as he'd done similarly with the skewers at the fireworks all those weeks ago. Cheeks already stuffed with the previous bite, he goes for the next, not bothering to swallow.

Back then, when we first met, I never imagined my soulmate to be this gluttonous. The boy was always insatiable, and while that part didn't bother me so much, I always marveled at his ability to eat anything. Even now, amidst my disgust, I didn't even want to think about what a slab of roasted meat must've tasted like; Stale, grease soaked and shoved in a pocket for however many hours.

"...Why do you always shove everything in your pants?" Completely forgoing my usual filter, I find myself asking with genuine curiosity and borderline ick, reminiscing on the pink octopus incident. Well... At least this time he'd kept these in his pockets.

Canines ripping off a hunk of the med-rare roast, Luffy chews, swallows down a massive mouthful that bulges comically through his neck, and completely disregards the crumbs around his mouth. "I dunno. Where else am I supposed to put stuff?"

I pause. He pauses. We both blink at each other without an answer.

"...Valid, I guess."

"Yup." Shrugging, Luffy plants a hand on his hip. "Here, you want some? It's good, n' it'll probably help since you're tired."
