Evangaline's POV
It was lunch already. The siren had just sounded. Hopefully Elijah would be back by now. I was keen on meeting him.
"Hey new chick," I heard a young man's voice call out to me as Mauryn, Nina and I made our way to the cafeteria. "Wanna join us?" I looked back to see a young man, blue eyed with messy chestnut hair. He looked so familiar. The hair, the eyes. I needed to run away from him.
I was suffocating. My heart beat quicken as sweat emerged from my skin. I ran my way to the girls' convenience with Nina and Mauryn following behind, bewildered and concerned.
"Are you OK, hun?" Mauryn placed her hand on my shoulder as I leaned on the basin, looking at the mirror with tears in my eyes.
"He- he looked so much like him." I swallowed as tears started falling off down my cheeks. "It hurts."
"We should take her to some place less busy - " Nina suggested.
"N-No.." I stopped her, gulping hard to stop my tears from falling. Hell, I was a mess. I looked weak. I did not want that. "I need to give Elijah these forms."
I looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes were red and my hair looked so untamed. I definitely didn't look proper. I just looked like a beggar on the the street. I quickly ran my hands through my hair and dapped the tissue in the corner of my eyes. After that I flashed a big smile. "I'm ready."
I made my way to the PEMAC room. This time, alone.
I knocked the door 3 quick times as I ran my fingers along my curly hair.
"Come in." I heard an attractive voice with a thick Australian accent call out. Australian accent was quite distinguishable. Having visited Australia before, I was quite used to that Australian accent.
I opened the door slowly, I do not know why my palms were sweaty and I was nervous. Maybe it was due to the previous incident. My eyes diverted to the occupants of the room. There were 3 young boys. One boy, with sandy blonde hair, green eyes and tanned skin occupied the far right section of the room while the other, had auburn hair and dark eyes. His skin was lightly sun kissed and it complemented well with his other dark features and the strong jawline. I guess this might be Elijah, definitely the most good looking out of all the other boys.
"Elijah?" I said after a while.
I saw Marcus nudge the auburn hair guy forward.
"Err," he started out. He had that smooth voice which you'd want to hear all the time. He started rubbing his palms together, "E-Evangaline?"
For a moment I stood motionless. He knew my name. Probably because I was the new girl. No big deal.
"Yep, that's right," I smiled delicately at him. "You had to sign my acceptance letter?" I said putting the papers forward.
"Oh, yeah right," he took the papers from me. It wasn't hard to notice that he was nervous, his hands were shivering and the pen had slipped numerous times from his hand.
I smiled as I looked at him. I definitely had created an impression on him. Or maybe not. But I liked to think I did. Elijah handed the consent paper to Marcus while keeping my birth certificate to himself.
"I better get going," I smiled at all the three lads as I started to exit the room."Bye," both the sandy blonde hair dude and Marcus called out. I looked over my shoulder and waved a bye at the duo. My eyes then diverted to Elijah. He was looking me too. Our gaze locked. His eyes felt safe. It felt like home. It was inviting. This guy was something different.

"Gosh! He is damn good looking!" I told my girls."You bet he is," winked Nina.
"So did you see Bryan?" Mauryn asked.
"Err, Bryan who?"
"Her boyfriend," Nina teased while winking at me. Seriously, this girl knew how to wink.
"Honey blonde haired..um, Australian?" Mauryn fed me with his description.
"Ohmigosh! That was him! He looks so fine. How come I never knew of this?"
"Well now you do."
"So tell me more about Elijah." I asked the girls."And why do you want to know?" Nina teased me.
Honestly, I didn't even know why I was so interested in knowing him. I guess I liked the way he looked. Maybe it would lead to an infatuation. Maybe this was the beginning of it.
"Well, Elijah, he is buddies with Bryan, a really simple guy, down to earth and very jovial. Obviously really responsible, being the captain of the boys' hockey team."
"He is a Sagittarius, born in December sometime, 94."
Mauryn and I looked at Nina, bewildered. "Watcha looking at? Mauryn, you know I had a big time crush on him last sem."
"Awww." I suddenly started feeling weird, kinda sad though not entirely. "So do you still like him?"
"Oh hell no! That was like so last semester doll," this somehow uplifted my spirits. "I liked him until I found out that he had a girlfriend."
"A girlfriend," was I hearing wrong or was she saying it wrong? I felt terribly bad. My heart, which had already started fluttering at his name was now crushed. I felt so stupid. A guy who I hadn't talked to ever in my life, a guy I just saw today and exchanged a a few mere words. This was absolutely stupid. Not that I was heartbroken but you know that slight hope you have when you see someone really cute? Well yeah, that was crushed.
"Yep, he has a girlfriend, Tiahli."
Great, my first crush in this college was officially crushed. Even though it was an one day old crush.
