The 30 minutes' pass and they pick up the papers. I'm still wondering about the last question. I glance at Justin again and he turns in his chair to face me.
"Did you make it to the last question?" He asks, making me shiver.
We only had a few minutes to get to know each other last night, and now he's acting like we've been friends sense forever.
"Yeah... that was... hard," I answer sadly.
The truth is I still don't know how to respond to that question. I feel like I chose the right decision, but there's one part of me that disagrees.
"What did you choose?" He blurts and I stare at him, wondering if I should say.
I sigh after a long, awkward moment. If I'm going to gain trust, I have to start now.
"I put yes," I respond, watching the smile that grows on his face.
"So did I."
I smile back.
"What do you think they'll do to us?" I ask, fright returning in me like a snake and my smile fading.
He shrugs and a burst of annoyance flows through my veins. I'm starting to get frustrated. That's all the answers I'm getting right now. A simple shrug that means nothing.
"They didn't tell us. They said they would when the others got here.... Probably you, but I'm not seeing answers," he replies, glaring at the scientists who appear to be looking at our test.
I glance at them, worrying about what's going on in their heads.
"The bad feeling is returning to me," I whisper, tensing ever so slightly.
Did that give everything away?
"Are you sure it's not fright?"
I don't respond, forcing myself not to sigh. He doesn't seem to be skeptical over why I have the bad feeling, and I think I'm in the clear because of it.
I don't know if it is or isn't fright, and the frustration and stress only grows in me. I stare at the scientists, confusion warping through my brain and making my head pound.
Justin smiles.
"Then we all have the bad feeling."
I roll my eyes, facing forward again as the scientists look up with pleased faces.
"Very good. You have all answered yes to the last question," Jenny states, making me wince and I slump forward in my chair.
"Now the fun part," Devin says excitedly and I look up again.
"Fun part?" Jada asks and the scientists nod.
"Follow us," Jenny commands as a chill runs down my spine.
I stand up with Justin close by and we all follow them out of the classroom.
"Fun part?" Gema whispers questionably to me and I shrug.
Gema looks up at Justin.
"He's gotten very close to you," she says smiling and I roll my eyes again.
"Oh please."
She snickers next to me silently and heat rushes to my cheeks but before anyone can notice we make it to a room. No other door is close to it, and it's made from steel like a lone ranger from the other wooden made doors.
"Uh...," Nayeli whispers.
"Don't worry. It's just precaution," Jenny reassures.
"Is that supposed to make us feel better?" Emily snaps and the scientists both shake their heads and open the door.
