I suddenly hear a voice. It sounds distant, and light. It takes me only a few seconds to notice the voice is in my head. It sounds horribly close to Justin's voice... but I can't be sure.
"Edan!"
Fear erupts in me again. I'm only hallucinating, I say to myself as I try to ignore it.
"Edan!" It calls again.
I wish I can scream, but I can't move my body. Everything is black and oddly quiet. But of course, the voice has to ruin it. It's definitely Justin. Is he stuck in there? How can he talk to me like this? Oh I hope he can't read my thoughts.
"Edan, answer me!" Justin calls again.
Ok, I'm now officially freaking out. I want to scream, but then again, I can't move my mouth. I want to tell him to get out of my head, but something tells me that won't work.
I don't want to make myself do this, but I know Justin will never shut up if I don't try talking to him again.
"Justin?" I call, sensing his smile that know he can't make.
"Edan! Thank God!"
"How can you talk to me this way?" I ask him immediately.
"Wo, calm down. I can't read your thoughts, but I can talk to you through brain waves.... I think that's how you explain it," he answers questioningly.
"This is too weird!" I blurt and he turns silent.
I immediately feel guilty about saying that. Maybe Justin doesn't have a choice about getting into my head. For all know, it's probably the scientists.
"Sorry, I'm freaking out."
"It's cool, but ever since I blacked out from the pill, I could talk to you through your mind. It's like we're linked, or connected in some way," he says, making heat rush through me.
In normal circumstances, I would be thrilled or amazed about how this worked... but this is a little too over the line.
"Justin... Where are we?"
He's silent again.
"I don't know... Wait, I think I'm waking up! My vision is clearing."
"Good! When you wake up fully, can you come find me?" I ask him.
"Yeah, ok."
We don't talk for a while after that. I'm still in shock that we can communicate this way, but something is off about me. I don't feel like I'm in control of my body. I don't really think I'm ready to wake up. There's something going on with me, and I know it. My whole body feels like tiny moths or other insects are running through it.
That's when I feel a bounce, making me wish I can tense up. Somebody's around me, but a tiny spark of hope rushes through me.
"Justin?"
"Yeah it's me... If you felt that bounce."
"Where are we?"
"Well I was in my room," he answers, not really replying to my question.
"So I am too?"
"Yes."
"How did you get in here?!" I ask, hearing a light laugh.
"Your door was wide open with a note attached to it," he answers, sparking my curiosity.
"What did it say?"
