AN: i mashed chapter two and three together because it was bugging me but I didn't take anything out, so don't be confused by the chapter number. Everything you think has happened has still happened.

(this chapter had flashbacks of the earlier days in new york so those are in italics)

It was the evening of New Year's eve and Camila was standing between Ally and Lauren at the front row of their viewing spot. It was snowing lightly so they huddled up like penguins for warmth. Normani was beside Lauren and Sofi was clinging to Lauren's back like a monkey.

"Ten minutes, guys," Alejandro informed them. He and Sinu were a little farther away so they could have their own space. Alejandro had his arms wrapped around Sinu and all the girls aww'd at the sight, except Sofi who crinkled her nose and mumbled something about cooties.

The last three days in New York had been a blast. Lauren had set up fun things for them to do every day, using some of her connections. It was pretty great, considering they never had to wait in line, like when they went to the Empire State Building. Or when they went ice skating at Rockefeller Plaza she had reserved the entire rink for two hours. Camila was especially grateful for that because she couldn't skate for shit, and it would have been embarrassing to have everyone see her fall on her ass dozens of times.

"Lauren! Lauren, I'm scared," Camila whined, awkwardly stepping out onto the ice. Almost immediately she began to fall, flailing her arms around. She quickly grabbed the side of the rink and clutched it for dear life, breathing heavily.

Lauren tried her best not to laugh as she watched the scene unfold, "Bend your knees, Camz," she instructed as she skated over to her clumsy friend with ease. When Camila practically popped a squat on the ice, still clutching the side, Lauren couldn't contain her laughter anymore.

"Stooop," Camila whined.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Lauren apologized. "I didn't mean squat, I meant just lightly bend them," she explained and Camila blushed, adjusting her stance. "There you go. Give me your hands." Camila reached out nervously and grasped Lauren's hands.

Even through both pairs of their gloves, Lauren could still feel the sparks.

"Okay, we'll start off slow," Lauren mumbled as she began to glide backwards, pulling Camila with her.

Camila's eyes widened and she gripped onto Lauren tightly. "Slow down, are you trying to kill us?" she shrieked and Lauren laughed again, shaking her head.

"Calm down, Camz. Sofi is going faster than us."

For the next thirty minutes the two girls skated together before Camila decided she wanted to try on her own. Lauren let her hands go but remained close, ready to catch her if she fell. Camila slowly began to skate around, almost falling a few times.

She looked like a baby deer learning to walk and Lauren found it both amusing and adorable.

It wasn't long before Camila lost her balance and Lauren's catching skills were required. Camila flailed around, trying her hardest not to fall over. Eventually she lost to gravity and began to fall back but Lauren swooped in and caught her, holding her against her chest.

"Careful there, Bambi," Lauren teased, her warm breath tickling the cold skin of Camila's neck.

Camila shivered and mumbled a quick 'thank you' as Lauren set her up right. Her whole body felt weird. Her stomach was doing flips and her head was a frenzy of random feelings and thoughts.

What was going on?

The day before New Year's Eve, Camila, Sofi, and Lauren had walked around window shopping while the others slept in. It was weird, because it wasn't long before paparazzi noticed Lauren and started snapping pictures of the girls.
