*Tati's Pov*
"Okay well we're about to set sail so I'll call you when I get back." I spoke into the phone.

"Okay. I'll see you soon T." Martin said.

"Bye." "Bye." I hung up and laid down. "Hey are you okay?" Alex asked.

"Yeah I'm fine." I said.

"I'm a girl so I know what 'I'm fine' means. What's wrong." She said.

"It's just-Martin and I have talked for a while now and I'd think he would ask me out of something." I sighed.

"Maybe he didn't want to do it over the phone?"

"It's just because what happened at his birthday party that Saturday seemed special to me. I don't know about him though." I sighed.

*Flashback to the Party*

I walked into the house seeing it full of kids."Tati! You made it!" I heard Martin yell over the loud music.

"Yeah of course." I smiled. "Let's go upstairs. We're all playing truth or dare." He pulled me.

*10 Minutes later*
"Ew no way I'm touching that!" A boy yelled.

"You have to touch Francis the Frog." Another girl said.

She pulled out a real frog I'm guessing 'Francis'. He was big and looked ugly.

The boy closed his eyes putting his finger out. "Ahh it's so nasty!" He ran out to the bathroom.

We laughed. I felt kind of awkward tbh. He knew everyone here but I only knew him. Martin looked at me seeing me uncomfortable.

He pulled me to the side."What's wrong?" He asked.

"It's just I feel so left out because I barely know your friends." I rubbed my eyes. I was getting kinda tired.

"Oh.. Well if you want I could just stay with you." Martin offered.

"Yeah I'd like that." I smiled. He told his friends he'd be outside and we walked to the backyard.

"So.. What did you wish for you birthday?" I asked.

"I wished for the best people on this earth, but then realized I already had them." He said.

I laughed a punched hum playfully. "What did you really wish for?" I asked.

"For an XBox One." He said.

I felt his hand brush against mine. I interlocked our fingers and smiled.

"What's that?" He asked. He pointed to my bracelet.

"Its something my mom and dad had given me before they went all crazy."

It was metal and had 'Always our little girl' on it.

My sister had one too, the same writing. Hers has a sun on it and mine has a moon.

Since 6 years old I've been reppin' it. Lol it was pretty big so that's why it still fits.

"It's beautiful." Martin said admiring it.

"Martin do you like me?" I asked. I didn't mean to say that though. It just came out. I guess I was thinking out loud.

"What?" "Never mind." I said.

He pulled my face facing his and smiled. "Yes of course I like you, your a great friend." He said.

Ah the lovely friend zone. Forever alone. "The friend zone isn't that bad." He laughed.

He pulled my into a hug. He smelled my hair.

"Did you just smell my hair?" I asked.

"Just a wiff." He smiled.

He started leaning in and I was like 'Aaahhhh' inside. He was going to kiss me!

His lips connected with my lips and I heard fireworks. Are the gates of heaven opening?

We pulled away and looked at each other, smiled and hugged.

He made a box with his hands. "This is the friend zone." He said.

He pinched thin air and pulled it out of the box."That was you out of the friend zone." He laughed.

He never asked me out though.

*Flashback over*

"Woah. Interesting." Alex said.

"Well I'm just happy my first kiss wasn't caused by a dare." I said.

"Wasn't that how Violet and Hayes got together?" She asked.

I nodded and stood up. "Yeah but my kiss is still better." I said.
