It's been years
But I still hear them
The names
The insults
Every word
They are seared into my mind
Like a brand on a cow
I can't get rid of them
I won't
It hurts
Pain unexplainable
Not physical
It's a feeling you feel
Within your whole body
That stays forever
Never letting me forget
Those actions
They hurt
They are unforgettable
Those words
They hurt
They are unforgettable
Sticks and stones never broke me
Words did
