ALEX
"Okay, but can we do that later?"  I asked aloud.  "I mean, we just got home last night.  I want to eat my own food, which I just now realized is probably expired, sit and relax and watch a freakin movie.  On a real, HD TV."
"We've used up a lot of time already, we need to-" Dean began his attempt to rally.
"Do you guys keep any VCR tapes with you?"  I interrupted.  "We do have Netflix, but I thought you might like to watch one of your movies if you had one."
"Yeah," Sam replied.  "I have a couple in my bag here, and two more in the car.  I'll go get them." He handed me the ones from his duffel before heading out to the car.
"I'll check if you've got any movie food."  Dean volunteered on his way to the kitchen.
I popped in one of the tapes without checking the title first, then pressed play.  I didn't expect to see 'CASA EROTICA' display on the screen.
"Oh my god, Alex, turn it off!"  Erin called from behind me.
"I can't, the button's stuck!" I replied, fiddling with the VCR to get the tape out.  "Wait, is that Gabriel?!"
Just then, Sam came back inside carrying a few tapes.  He instantly realized what was happening when he glanced at the screen.
"Why do you have a porno video with your friend as the star?"  I asked accusingly.
"It's not what it looks like–"  Sam tried to explain.
"That's not Gabriel."  Erin stated in a very matter-of-fact tone.
"Yes it is."  I said.  "Same face and everything."
"What do you mean by that, Erin?" Sam asked.
"His aura is all wrong.  That guy is swirling orange and blue.  The Gabriel I met is a layered beige, with black spots and squiggles." She answered.
"I thought you said it was too bright to make out?"  I inquired.
"Well, I guess I can remember it better than I can see it.  Odd."  Erin replied.
"That description of Gabe's aura sounded an awful lot like a book." Dean observed, standing by the kitchen-living room entryway before shoving a fistful of popcorn into his mouth.  He looked like a chipmunk.
"Since when do you know what a book looks like?" Sam retorted.
Instead of responding, Dean brushed Sam off, then continued. "Anyway, that description of beige layers with black squiggles sounded like a book, and an angel with a book-like aura makes me think of-"
"Metatron." Sam finishes. "He's back."
"Damn."  Dean cursed, first under his breath, then again in a loud bark.  "Son of a b**ch!"
Then even Erin, with the cleanest mouth of anyone I know, cursed under her breath.  That's when I got worried.  "What?  Who's Metatron?"
"He's the annoying psycho who stole Cas's grace and tore all the angels out of heaven a couple years ago."  Sam filled me in.
"Wait, Castiel?  He was fine when I met him."  Erin asked, confused.
"He is fine.  Now."  Dean answered, then explained.  "He found his grace a short while back, went through hell getting it.  Then he escaped with the demon tablet."
"Wait, what's a demon tablet?" I asked.
"Long story." Sam told me.  "Gist of it is, he has something important and powerful in his possession.  That, and he's back for more."

A/N
Hey, I know it's really short, but I just wanted to get an update out.  I know it's been a while, but pretty soon I hope to really start working on this.  Maybe to chill myself out in-between study sessions for finals.  I guess we'll just have to see!
