Chapter 5

-Lew's P.O.V.-

"Hey, Heather. Do you know what day it is today?"I asked her. She keeps forgetting. But it's not her fault, she just has a bad memory.

"No, I don't keep track of the days. What day is it?" She asked me.

"The 27th. Our 8 month anniversary. And I have a surprise for you." I told her. This is an amazing surprise. She will love this.

"Oh! I'm sorry that I keep forgetting Lew. My mind has been all over the place and I've been taking care of Miya and Brayden.."

"It's ok baby. Calm down"

"Ok" she took some deep breaths. "I'm calm now. And also happy 8 month anniversary boo. I love you."

"Happy 8 month anniversary baby. I love you too."

"So what's the surprise?" She asked me.

"You'll see in a bit. First, I'll put this blindfold on you, then I will lead you there." I put the blindfold on her so she couldn't see.

"Ok"

"Let's go." I grabbed her hand and we began walking while she was holding Brayden and I had a hold on Miya's leash. First we went to Amber's moms apartment so she could watch Miya and Brayden, I talked to her earlier and I told her what I was going to do and she agreed to watch them for us. So after that, I took Heather by the hand and we walked to the park.

"Are we almost there?" She asked me.

"We're here. I'll take the blindfold off of you." And I took the blindfold off. I had set up a picnic for us. She had always wanted that but her mom never allowed it, or we were busy or something would happen to where we couldn't.

"Yaaaay!!!" She was so excited. I think I did pretty well if I do say so myself.

-Heather's P.O.V.-

The picnic was so much fun! Lew is so good sweet! Then all of the sudden we heard a gunshot and a scream. Then Xman calls Lew, and Kimmy calls me.

Me: hey Kimmy. What's up?
Kimmy: Heather. Get over to the park behind the school. Lew told me and Xman where you guys were gonna be and we made sure we weren't there or that we wouldn't bother you but we need you. Now. Please hurry.

And with that, she hung up. A few seconds earlier Xman had hung up on Lew.

"We need to go to the park. Now!" I told him.

"I know, Xman just told me to go there and there was something in his voice that didn't seem right." He said.

"Kimmy was crying while she was telling me to get over there. It must be bad. Let's go."

We ran like hell to get there. It took us around 5 minutes. When we got there we saw a person with a gun and we couldn't see where the gun was pointing so we walked slow and quietly over there. We must be pretty sneaky because no one heard us. We were able to listen in on the conversation. And we saw who the gun was pointed at, Kimmy and Xman.

"Please.. Don't shoot us. we won't tell anyone what we saw." Xman said.

"Yea, I know you won't, because you'll be too dead to tell anyone anything." The guy told them. He had a mask on so we couldn't see his face.

"No please! I'll do anything, just please don't shoot!" I heard Kimmy yell.

"Hmm.. Anything?" The guy with the gun asked.

"Yes... Anything.." She replied.

"No Kimmy... Don't... You don't have to do anything he wants just so he won't shoot. It's ok. I'll be fine. Just as long as he doesn't hurt you." Xman told her. He was up against a wall and Kimmy was up against a metal thing that we were behind. The guy with the mask couldn't see us but I went to where Xman could see me without being out in the open, when he was looking at Kimmy, he saw me. He didn't want us to get hurt so he pretended not to see anything.

"So, you will do anything for me not to shoot?" The mask guy asked her again.

"Yes.. I will do anything." Kimmy said. I saw a tear slide down Xman's face.

"Ok, come here then." He told her and she went over to him. "Now take this gun, and you shoot him." As he handed her the gun I looked at Lew and I wanted to cry.

"What??" Kimmy and Xman started panicking.

"Kimmy! You don't have to do this!" Xman told her.

"If you don't want me to, then yes you do." The masked guy told her.

"Ok..." She took the gun and she aimed for his leg. I couldn't take this anymore. When I heard the gun fire I jumped out in front of it and instead of Xman getting shot, I got shot. All of the sudden everyone except the masked guy crowded around me asking if I was ok, and everything was fading to black. The next thing I remember I opened my eyes and I was in the hospital.

-Lew's P.O.V.-
Kimmy took the gun and she aimed. I don't know where she's aiming but I think she's really gonna shoot him. All of the sudden I hear a gun shot and Heather jumps out in front of the bullet. She got shot! She saved Xman! But oh my god she's bleeding a lot! I ran over to her and I got out my phone and called 911.

911: 911, what's your emergency?
Lew: help! Help! My girlfriend just got shot! We're at the park behind Olive Elementary in New Carlisle!! We need an ambulance.
911: ok sir, an ambulance is on their way. Please stay calm.

With that I hung up. They were there within 5 minutes. It took us not that long to get to the hospital, the people in the ambulance let me and Kimmy ride in the ambulance.

"Don't worry Kimmy. She will be fine. I promise." I assured her.

"Well what if she's not?? It's all my fault.." Kimmy was bawling.
