Chapter 6

-Heather's P.O.V.-
Next thing I know, I open my eyes and I'm in the hospital.. I saw Lew standing by the window looking outside.

"Lew, w-what happened?" I asked.

"Oh my god. Heather. You're awake! You jumped out in front of the bullet that was going toward Xman. You got hit. You bled a lot then you were unconscious. But you're fine. I should let Amber and Kimmy know that you are fine." He said. So he called Kimmy and told her. She was so happy. Then he called Amber and she was pissed because no one told her about anything. So she decided to come see me.

When she got here she yelled at Lew.

"WHY THE HELL DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME THAT MY BEST FRIEND TOOK A BULLET FOR THAT ASS?? OR THAT SHE WAS IN THE FUCKING HOSPITAL!?" I could tell that she was super pissed. But Lew didn't deserve to get yelled at like this.

"Amber! Don't yell at him. Please. Kimmy knew because she was there with us. You were at school. So please don't yell at him." I told her.

"Right, I shouldn't be yelling at him. I should be yelling at you! WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU TAKE A BULLET FOR HIM?? HES AN ASS HE DOESNT DESERVE IT!!" She yelled.

"I did it because he's my friend."

"OH SO NOW HES YOUR FRIEND?! SO WHEN HE BREAKS MINE AND KIMMYS HEART, THEN HES YOUR FRIEND??"

"Calm down Amber. Please. Don't yell at me." I wanted to press the button to get the nurse in here to get Amber the hell out of here so she wouldn't be yelling at us anymore. But I didn't because she's my friend.

"You're right, I'm sorry Heather. Be friends with whoever the hell you want. Hell, you could be friends with Wayne for all I care! Goodbye." And with that, she left.

"Oh, Lew did you happen to call my boss and tell him what happened?" I asked him.

"No, I will now."

So Lew called my boss and told him what happened, he asked how I was and if I was ok, Lew told him that I'll live and that I won't be back to work for a few days probably. He was fine with it. Lew also decided to call the school and tell them what happened. They said I can return to school when I am feeling better.

*the next morning*

When I woke up, Lew and Xman were in the chairs beside me. They were asleep. The nurse came in soon after that.

"Oh good, you're already awake." The nurse said.

"Yep.." I replied.

"Ok, well we ran some tests to make sure that you are ok and that there isn't something else we need to do for you, and it turns out you are fine. But you need to take it easy for at least a week." She told me.

"Ok. Thanks. So I can go?"

"Yes. You are free to go now."

"Yay" I woke up Xman and Lew after I changed into my clothes and I was ready to go.

"Hey. Shouldn't you be in the bed?" Xman asked me.

"The nurse told me I'm free to go."

"Oh, that's great!"

"So you're ok?" Lew asked me.

"Yes. Let's go" I said. And we all got ready to go and we left. We went back to my apartment and Lew went downstairs to Amber's moms to get Brayden and Miya. Xman stayed up with me to make sure I take it easy for that minute while Lew was gone.

"Yay you're back, can I hold Brayden? Or is that not taking it easy?" I said sarcastically.

"You can hold him. It should be fine you smart ass." He laughed. He handed Brayden to me, then there was a knock at the door.

"I got it." Xman said. He went to go answer the door.

"Hey, can I come in?" That voice sounded so familiar... Oh. It's Bob!

"What are you doing here?" Xman asked.

"I heard from Amber that Heather just got back from the hospital so I decided to come check on her."

"Well she's fine. We are taking care of her."

"Ok. Well can I come in and see her?" Xman looked to me. I nodded. Xman slowly let him in.

"Hey Bob." I said.

"Hey Heather. You ok?" He asked.

"Yes. She's ok. Me and Xman are taking care of her." Lew said, he walked over and sat beside me and put his arm around me.

"Yea.. I'm ok.." I said.

"That's good.." Bob replied.

"Yea.. Well we have things to do so bye." Xman said.
