Chapter 10: Pixie cut

Me, Jean, Armin, Sasha, Mikasa and Levi sat at a table in the dining hall in silence. They all were eating while all I could do was stare at my food. On the verge of tears because who knows what. "Are you going to eat it that" I looked up and Sasha was pointing at my bread. "No have at it" I said looking around. Annie sat alone. I couldn't help but feel upset for her

"Hey what are you looking at captain" Armins little voice spoke. "Just her love" Jean laughed while ruffling my blue hair. "Shut up horseface" I gave him the death stare and elbowed his stomach. He yelped in pain. "Some ones not happy today" Levi said. I ran my fingers through my hair. From roots to ends.

"You should cut that" Mikasa said. Lately I've been thinking on that. I nodded and looked back at Annie. She was gone. I sighed and went to stand when Levi pulled me back down. "What length would look cute on her" Sasha grabbed my hair. "You should get a pixie cut" Jean said. "What! No thats way too short" I gasped. "Do it do it" Sasha chanted.

"Ok fine but who will cut it" I looked at each of them. "I can" Levi slightly raised his hand. We all stared at him. "What I cut my own hair so sure as hell I can cut hers" I said. "Ugh fine" I rolled my eyes. They all smiled but Levi.

I sat in a chair in the boys cabin. Around me was Armin, Jean, Mikasa, Sasha, Connie, Eren, Bertolt, and Annie. Levi stood behind me with scissors. "I don't need an audience guys its my damn hair" I scanned their faces. "Come on its going to look so weird" Connie smiled. "I think you'll look cool" Eren said. "Just like old times" I heard Annie whisper under her breath. Everyone was too excited to hear her but I did.

Levi started without warning me. "AH" I squeezed my eyes. "What" Armin said. "Did he cut you?" Jean asked looking furious. "No he just surprised me thats all" I responded. A little while past and he was done. Everyone look so happy.

"Wow it looks so amazing" Sasha said "it really does" Bertolt finally spoke. "Here" Levi handed me a handheld mirror. I looked at myself and I looked like a whole new person. One more step towards becoming my real self.

Later that day scouts gave me weird looks. It didn't bother me. "Um hello do I know you" I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned and was Erwin. "Yes commander its me, Violet" I smiled "oh my. Did you cut your hair?" He jumped "yes I did. Well actually Levi cut it" I pointed to Levi who sat across from me. He gasped and widened his eyes. "You said you wouldn't tell anyone" He wined. I stuck my tongue out and left to go to my room.

I looked at myself in the mirror and I continued to remember my past

-Flashback-

"Aw aren't you a cutie" a woman said pinching my cheeks. "Ok lets get to business. You are no longer (forgotten name) you are now Violet Nakama do you understand" a man said getting right up in my face. I nodded. "Ok next we have to put on this wig" The man said pulled me over to a bathroom.

He glued what felt like a head to my head. Light blue. And very long. . "Lastly your eyes. These are contacts. Take them out when you sleep." He held up two green contacts and shoved them in my eyes. "Now I'm your new father Marcus" The man said. "And I'm your new mother Athena" A woman said. All I could do was nod.

"This is for your own sake" Father held up a syringe full of blue liquid. My fear of needles kicked in and I squirmed but a guard held me down. "You won't remember this or the other family" father said sticking the syringe into my upper arm.

-end of flashback-

I closed my eyes tightly. I forgot to take out my contacts for years. But fath- Marcus said I wouldn't remember. When I turned titan did that trigger something. My head shot up. That name. Why couldn't I remember it. My old name before royalty. When I lived with Annie. Surely she'd remember.

I ran down into the dining hall. Annie was sitting at a far table away from everyone. I ran towards her and for the first time in what seemed like forever she looked somewhat happy. "Hey Annie do you remember my name before I was given away. I asked sitting next to her. She shook her head. I padded her back and apologized for interrupting her.

We went on another mission. Me, Annie and Armin had the path to the left. Sasha, Connie, and Jean had the right. Levi, Eren, and Erwin followed by a few others had the middle. Things were going smoothly until we got to a forest. Everyone gathered. "Ok team. Last time we were in a forest we lost a lot of comrades including Petra" Erwin said

Annie jolted her head down. It was a while since then and no one expected Annie as the killer of Petra. "Ok Sasha, Armin, Ymir, and Jean will take the outside left" Erwin pointed to the way and they left. "Annie, Bertolt, Krista, and Connie will take the outside right. I said and they left. "Now the rest will follow inside middle. Only Levi, myself, Erwin, Mikasa, Eren,and Hanji will be on horseback following the path. The rest of you will be using the ODM gear following close behind" I said making sure everyone heard me.

We all got into place and rode into the forest. I had a horrible feeling about this. Nothing could go right.
