(Taylor's POV)
After dinner, my head was spinning and I couldn't even come to terms with what I had just done. Standing in my apartment living room with Ebony staring out of the window into the night gave me enough time to fully retreat back into my own mind which was never a good thing. I certainly never woke up this morning thinking I would be able to grace the beautiful lips of my former girlfriend.
Running into her at the restaurant was nowhere near planned and when I saw her own girlfriend sat right next to her, I couldn't decide if violence or spontaneous human combustion was the answer. Thankfully, the reckless side of me took over and completely grabbed the reins on the situation. I'll admit it was childish to approach her the way that I did and conduct myself in such a way but what else was I supposed to do? Jealousy had won over and boy was I dark green.
I never intended on fucking with their relationship and after Lily's admission it only made me regret my comments even more. Now, I can only hope Jacky hasn't found out about our amazing make-out session and put two and two together about my birthday. If I know Lily, she's hiding something about Jacky and seems too embarrassed to admit what it is. If Jacky isn't hitting my... her princess, I can only assume she's being verbally abusive. However, I don't think I have any grounds to judge based off of what my own hands have done to her fragile body.
No matter the consequences though, the kiss we shared was more than needed and definitely long due. It was what I needed to find closure and hopefully the same goes for Lily. Now, I can focus all of my energy and attention on the woman who has captured my interest since the second I heard her voice.
I click my way over to the island that has a glass of wine already set out by Ebony. Our dinner had been more than enjoyable even with certain disruptions. I twirl the blood red liquid around a little and sip it before joining the gorgeous woman I might be calling my girlfriend. With my shoulder touching her own, both our eyes lay focused on the moving lights and vehicles outside. I can tell Ebony is not used to this lifestyle and it is almost endearing to watch her being introduced to it.
"I can't believe I'll be living here in a week," she shakily breathes out. My eyes land on a couple walking a dog with an unknown destination in mind. The man laughs as the woman becomes tangled by the dog's leash while waiting for the right to cross the street. "I don't think I'll ever get used to this type of living. Everyone seems so free to do whatever it is they desire and god does everyone walk fast," she admits as she places a hand to her heart.
I chuckle before placing both our glasses on a side table that I purchased from some guy wanting to throw it away. I take my hands and place them on Ebony's shoulders, turning her to face me. "You're going to fit right in," I assure her. My hand finds its way to her soft cheek and I can feel her leaning into my touch. "I can't begin to describe how amazing it is to know you Ebony and having you just miles away from me really changes things."
She almost retracts from my touch but my grip stops her. Confusion swims through her eyes. "As you know, I was a wreck for quite some time. No one knew how to fix me and I certainly couldn't fix myself. Somehow, through your friendship, I have come back to the person I was and have even grown into a better version of that." Ebony smiles bashfully making me revel in her adorableness.
"I don't necessarily know if you feel the same about me but I would hope you'd give me the chance to get to know you even better by being my girlfriend." Ebony's lips part slightly in astonishment. Her own hand reaches up to grab my own and entwine our fingers.
The silence is completely unbearable but soon broken when she responds, "Yes." A large smile spreads across her face and I'm sure my own mimics hers.
