Till It's Time

Chapter 4 - Quiet Screams

Althea has barely touched her food. Cathleen was quiet too, she was trying to eat the food infront of her, finally unable to bear the silence. " So...Do you want to talk about it?" She look at Althea. " W--what? Sorry.." Althea look at Cathleen as if trying to comprehend what was she just said.
"Babe..please you can tell me, its okay..." She felt a knot tighten inside her chest..was it really okay, she asked herself.
" No...it doesnt matter , I -- I dont want to talk about her." Althea reached Cathleens hand and smiled. " You are all that matters to me now...You and Miggy" Althea's words was so sincere, But her eyes... there's sadness in those beautiful eyes just like when Cathleen first saw her. It's just that this time the sadness was so evident and her smiles is not enough to hide the pain.

Althea hold her hands as they walk back to the car, "Do you want me to drive Babe?"  Cathleen smiled " You sure?" " Yup!" Althea grabs the car keys from Cathleen then open the door on the passenger side. Cathleen settles herself on the seat, then Althea reached for the seatbelts and put it on Cathleen "Babe..I happen to know how to put this thing on" pointing at the seatbelts
Althea crooked her brows and without saying a word kissed Cathleen on her cheek. She walks on the other side, hops on the driver side and drove home.

Jade settles her self and narrates what happened that afternoon to her family. She was able to tell all without fear that her family will again judge her. It was a surprised that all of them listened even she had to break down in between her stories.  They understand and comforted her. She was sad but thankful with the support of her family. She lost her great love but earned back the love of her family. And that will be enough to continue living this life with hope that someday Love will find her again. 

That night she cried herself to sleep.

She cant sleep..what happened that afternoon keeps flashing to her memory. She was not ready to face Jade again. She can still feel Jade's embraced, her scent, her face...the pain in her eyes when she said those words are like a dagger piercing her whole being.  She felt that Jade doesn't want to let go of her, She doesn't want to let go too and she was scared of feeling that way...with all the courage she slowly removed those arms, her heart tells not to let go but in her mind she know that she must. So she pull all her senses and walked away from Jade. Why is she hurting so much. She did not noticed that she was shaking, she screams this pain in silence.

Cathleen pretends to be sleeping, She's facing Althea's back. She can see the movement of Althea's shoulder even their room only light is coming from the pinlights going towards their walk-in closet. The woman beside her has been crying silently.  Seeing Althea like this pained her too, she questioned does she still love Jade after all this time? What about her , does Althea really loved her? This thoughts battling inside her head, She loves you, you know that...but something in her heart also tells her what if the love she has for you is not the same as the love she have for Jade? She attempt to stop the tears from falling but she cant..the thought of Althea loving someone else scares her , pained her so much...She wants to question Althea, she want to ask if she still love Jade but she stop herself ...not tonight Cathleen give her time...Have a little patience.  She's not the type who would let herself torture with these thoughts but with Althea she was like this...this Woman has bring out a different persona in her, she now has a kind of patience she doesn't know she has.  Just sleep...and she let her tears flow in painful screams quietly with these  thoughts...
