Chapter 5 - Broken Arrow

Althea was at the kichen, she has cooked breakfast for Miggy and sends him off to school. She has arranged a School bus for Miggy since he entered 3rd Grade.  She has become busy when she started her business again. She pour coffee and took the mug with her to their room, Cathleen was still sleeping ..."hey beauty...dont you have work today?" She ran her fingers thru Cathleen's hair removing the strands that covers her face, while her other hand safely holding the coffee mug. Cathleen opens her eyes and smiles shyly..."'morning babe..what time is it?" Althea kisses her lips and said " almost 7am...are you feeling okay? You look sick." "Im okay just a little headache...anyway I need to work today have a presentation this afternoon..." Althea smiled but her face is worried, she gave her the coffee. "Im okay babe...no need to worry" Cathleen smells the freshly brewed coffee but did not sipped, she loves smelling the Aroma before drinking it ,  instead she look straight at Althea "and you...Are you okay now?" Althea gave her a puzzled look and said. "Yeah...I guess I'm good, lets have breakfast I also need to get going..we will meet a client by lunch today.." Althea stares at Cathleen's mestiza face and cant help to admire her beauty, bare and all...her red lips ,rossy cheeks, and her almond eyes...she loved those eyes. "Hmmn Babe...i think you need to stop staring at me if you still want to go to work today.." Cathleen said with a husky voice. Althea gave a smirk and shakes her head. "Right...yes " Althea moves closer to Cathleen, she brush her lips to her ear not kissing .Cathleen felt the warm and sweet breath of Althea "but you must join me in the shower.." She said these words in almost a whisper. And just that ...Cathleen smiled in submission.

It was a long day for Althea, the meeting took longer than she anticipated.  The client was meticulously impossible.  And finally they shake hands and closed the deal. "You know you have to thank your parents for your looks and ever dependable natural charisma." Batchi said smiling.  Althea looked at her bestfriend and answered "We offered them a good deal that's why they signed with us."  " have you noticed how the Girlfriend looked at you? " Batchi said with a laughed. Althea was irritated "Don't start with me Batch please. I'm not in the mood."
Batchi retreated she is not used to Althea like this. "So..what's up? You been so tight since this morning...Do you have something to tell your BFF?" Althea not looking at Batchi " I saw Jade yesterday..."
"What? I mean where? Shit..what happened? Did you two talked?"
Althea placed her hand on her forehead with eyes closed. Batchi knows that when Althea does this she is not ok. It took her a while and a few deep breaths  before Althea was able to speak " Batchi...why is it like that? we only talked for a few minutes but..I dont know, it's like all of sudden everything came back..." Althea pauses as she tried to stop her tears...she put her fist into her chest.." Why is it so hard to fight this? I was okay...but damn it damn this heart...ang hirap labanan.." Batchi saw the pain in Althea's eyes.  She put her arms around Althea's shoulder, she let her cry.  When Althea relaxes she asked " Do you still love Jade?"  Althea's spoke with conviction.
" I dont want to love her..."
"Althea...if only I can do something about it...but you know you're right. You are better now with Cathleen. I am happy seeing you as the same Althea, I dont want to see you drowning your self to her again. I know you still love Jade...but you must think about your self. Don't try to hold on to something that you have already decided to let go.."
Althea was quiet..
" I know Batch...its just that I feel that my heart has been stabbed, its still here..like there's a broken arrow, left here..."

" I dont know who is much broken now me or her , She has kept her promised she worked with her Annulment she's free now but I am not. She looks more determined...I dont know what has she been doing but I guess she has learned to accept her self so I think she is much braver now. Yeah ...she'll be okay. I hope."

There is a feeling of guilt inside Althea. She's the one who did not hold on to their love, she decided to move on while Jade continue to fix all her issues with hope that soon love will find them together.
