Gotta say guys, I'm disappointed. 4000 reads and only 21 votes? Not very encouraging, you know. Especially for a first-time writer.

Just saying.

Anyways, here it is! Enjoy!

Dedicated to simranstory, who got me to get my lazy ass in front of the computer and upload the next chapter before the end of this month, lol :P

JASON'S POV

Jason led the way back to the dining room, Piper following closely behind.

All the while, he kept an eye on his surroundings for anything unusual.

He could hear Leo - albeit barely, over the noise of the engine - working on something and humming the Batman theme song to himself. Coach Hedge was exactly where he was since the monster-attack earlier in the day - perched in the crow's nest atop the (now-fixed) mast, probably asleep. Cassandra - his stomach did a funny flip when he thought of her - was in the stables, gazing through the glass doors.

He approached the dining room warily, and stopped outside the closed doors when he heard voices inside.

"That's the Fireworks Beach. We used to have this really cool fireworks display there on the Fourth of July. The guys from the Hephaestus - sorry, Vulcan - Cabin put it up. Last time, they had this awesome sparkle-thingy that flew around the sky and accidentally lit a part of the forest on fire."

"My family used to have these Chinese paper lanterns shaped like dragons all over the house. They were kinda cool."

"Mom and I never celebrated the Fourth of July."

"You know that the Fourth of July is three days from now, don't you?"

At this point, Jason entered the room, ducking under the low doorway. Frank and Hazel were sitting on one side of the table, holding hands. Nico was seated on the other side, a half a donut in his hand - the other half being inside his mouth - pointing out the Fireworks Beach on the enchanted wall Leo had built.

The conversation stopped abruptly when the three demigods saw the look on Jason's face.

"What is it?" Hazel asked anxiously, her worried gaze flitting between Piper and Jason.

"I had this feeling..." Piper trailed off, shrugging. She suddenly looked embarrassed for some reason. "It's nothing, I just thought -"

"Something's on this goddamn ship!"

"Coach?"

Coach Hedge trotted into the room, sniffing the air with his nose, shrewd eyes scanning the room.

"Are you sure?"

"Ble-e-eh," the Coach bleated, "Don't you go around insulting this amazing nose, Valdez. If I say there is something on this flying metal frisbee, then there is something on it."
