“In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.”

                                                                   ― Robert Frost

I sat in the corner of the shop; drinking my coffee while finishing my college work. I tried ignoring the couple as they talked, but it was really hard not to eavesdrop.

"Are you coming to my parents house later for dinner?" Sam asked, touching Calvin's arm.

"Of course, love. I wouldn't miss it for the world!" She smiled at that, kissing his cheek.

"I'll see you then? I have to go. Lunch date with some friends! I love you." She said, before walking out of the small shop.

I sighed, writing some notes on a separate piece of paper, not even realizing that Calvin had taken a seat across from me. He was watching my every move. I could feel it.

I placed my pen on the table, glancing up at him. "What do you want?" I asked, running my fingers through my blond hair.

"After you're done here, do you want to go somewhere?" He said, getting straight to the point. No hesitations.

"Actually, I have to get to class." I replied, closing my books and putting my notepad away.

"Please? Take a day off from all of the stress and take me up on my offer!"

I stared at Calbin, rolling my eyes in defeat. I cannot believe I was about to do this. "Fine, I guess." I replied.

He smiled, standing up. "Well, come on, then! You can leave your stuff here, by the way. I'm going to lock up." He said, his tone urgent; but excited. I nodded, setting my books back on the round table.

He headed to the door, twisting the ket so it would lock. Once we were outside, he headed to the parking lot, pressing a button on his keychain. I heard a beep, realizing that he was unlocking his car.

Calvin opened the door for me, which was new, but I got in away; saying a soft "thank you" for the sweet gesture.

He got in the drivers side, starting the vehicle. It wasn't loud, instead it was a soft hum; which was soothing, really.

Calvin stopped in front of a restaurant, looking out of his window. I was confused; wondering what he was doing. "Um, are we going in?" I asked, glancing his way.

"No. I'm trying to find some―" He stopped abruptly, staying completely still.

"Calvin? Hey, what's wrong?" I asked, not getting an answer. I looked past him, finally getting why he was frozen.

His girlfriend Sam was sitting right next to the window, talking to some guy. She was laughing at everything he said, and he just smiled as she giggled.

The man took her hand, still grinning. Sam was taking a bite of her food, just when the mystery guy kissed her lips. She was cheating on Calvin.

"So, you brought me here to spy on your girlfriend?" I questioned, my eyes moving to look at Calvin. He turned, meeting my gaze.

"I'm sorry, Astrid. I just knew something was going on. She does this every week; I had to find out." He explained, running his tongue over his lip ring.

"Don't worry about it." I waved him off, smiling. He gave a sigh of relief. I noticed that they were leaving; just when I glanced at Sam, she looked right at me. Shock covering her facial features.

I didn't know what to do, so I did the thing I thought would trigger her emotions. I kissed Calvin, right on the lips. His lips were soft. I was surprised, though. Because he kissed me back.
