Last lesson, I had a free period so I sat in the common room trying to study for the the Science quiz we have tomorrow, normally I aced anything Mr Brandon threw my way but recently I've been slipping and with that my grade. I sighed running a hand through my hair wanting nothing more than to just go home to a nice empty house and watch cheesy American TV until Melissa comes back home with dinner. It was a Friday and Fridays were normally always takeaway night when both of us were both too exhausted with the tiresome week to even think about lifting a hand to cook, it was unhealthy and bad we know but we always came up with some excuse into why we were too tired.

The bell rung signally the end of the day and I sighed picking up my science revision and stuffing them inside my bag. I knew I couldn't go straight home today though, somehow my terrible excuse of a best friend had dragged me into coming along to a fight with her. Why she wanted me there I do not know.

I swung my bag over my shoulder before leaving the common room. Fay had said to text me at the end of the day as to where to meet, so I pulled my phone out of my pocket seeing if she had texted, she had.

I'm on the field!

Ignoring the huge amount of irrelevant emojis she sent at the end, I made my way to the field. Most students were making there way out of school but I on the other hand had got dragged into watching this stupid fight. This was a bad idea, fights I just hated them. What if someone got hurt? Are we expected to call an ambulance to the school? What if someone gets knocked unconscious? I thought, Seriously, why did I have to be apart of this?

"Yoo-hoo!" Fay yelled waving her hands at me from across the end of the field "I'm over here Charlie!"

I fought the urge to turn around and run back the other way and instead joined her instead at the end of the field "Can we go home Fay?" I tried, pulling at the sleeve of her top in the direction of the school gate "I have cookies back home, you can't resist cookies"

"No Charlie, you agreed" She said hiking up her satchel bag over her left shoulder clearly not giving into my temptations "We're not going home, we're supporting the Hunter brothers tonight"

"Fay please" I whined "These things are terrible what if I get beaten up or something?"

"Finn's the one having the fight not you" She said as she glanced down at the time on her phone "It starts in five minutes, come on let's get moving or we'll miss it"

"Your talking about it as if it's football game" I grumbled as Fay sped ahead and I struggled to keep up.

We crossed the courtyard, making our way over to the science block. A small group of people I could see were gathered round the back and it made my heart race.

"It's not too late to turn back you know Fay" I said pulling at my ginger friends arm and pulling her to a stop

"Calm down Charlie" She said spinning round to me with a reassuring smile "it'll be fine, don't worry if things get too crazy we'll just leave"

"You promise?" I asked biting down at my bottom lip.

"Yes, I promise" She said lightly "But it'll be fine, there's nothing to freak out about"
