Chapter Four
I woke up with a start. I didn’t dare look down at the bed below mine. Was it all a dream? Is he really there? I sat there staring at the ceiling for ten minutes. After that, I finally flicked my eyes to the floor. I gasped and sat up. He was gone! The trundle was neatly made and pushed back in, as if nothing had inhabited it last night. I looked at the clock. It was five past noon. Of course he would have gone home, stupid! I told myself. But then, I realized that his phone was still sitting on my bedside table. If I hurry, I could catch up to him. I thought.
I threw on whatever clothes I had on the floor and ran out of my room. I darted down the stairs. I was shocked at what I found. Mitch was standing above the stove, making pancakes, turkey bacon, and scrambled eggs. No way. I blushed when he looked at me and grinned.
“Thought I left, did you?” he said in his ADORABLE accent.
“Uh…” was all I managed to get out of my smart mouth. He laughed. It wasn’t a fake, dry one, but a hearty one; one that came from the heart. I flushed with happiness.
“Bon appétit!” he sang. I took a bite.
“Wow. This is amazing!” I gushed. My breakfast usually consisted of cereal and milk. He smiled before returning to his food. The whole time, we talked and got to know each other. I found out that his favorite color is red, (he hates the color blue, much to my distaste, but only because of his awful school uniforms) he can’t stand peas, he loves to go to the beach, and he enjoys to sit and read.
I told him that my favorite color is blue (he cringed), I love to read, play piano, and I think asparagus is creepy. He laughed at that. We then cleared the table and cleaned up.
“Scar?” he asked.
“Yeah, Mitch?”
“I don’t really want to leave.” I smiled so big, it hurt my face.
“Then don’t.”
“I have to get back; we have another show tonight!” he sighed.
“I have a plan…” I trailed off in thought. I told him that I could come to his last show, hang backstage, and afterwards, he’d tell his brother that he quits. His brother would think that he was going back to Australia, while his parents think he’s on tour with Ben and Max. But, he’d be with me. We would do whatever we wanted! I would tell my parents…well, we’ll deal with that when we get there. He quickly agreed. I couldn’t hold in my excitement. My life is officially perfect. What would Casey and Ann say?

“What the hell do you mean you quit?” Ben said the word distastefully.
“I don’t want to go on tour with you and Max anymore. I’ll go back home. Scar here will hook me up with a ticket. We’ll fly back together, and she’ll return alone. I’m sick of you guys giving me shit,” Mitch said matter-of-factly.
“Well…we only have two months left…” Ben trailed off.
“Exactly. Max hates me anyway, so it doesn’t matter.”
“I’m going to miss you bud.” Ben look genuinely upset. “Are you sure this is what you want?”
“Positive.”
“Well alright then.” We screamed and then hugged each other. Then we realized what we were doing and pulled away. I could have sworn he blushed!
“I’m going to call mum and let her know you’re coming home,” Ben said as he reached for his cell.
“No! I mean no, no need. We already did,” I offered.
“Oh alright.” He bought it! We couldn’t believe he bought it!
“Uh, well bye!” We ran out before Ben could question us anymore.

As we were driving along the road, Mitch picked up my phone and started to go through it. He blushed, the laughed really hard. Oh crap… What the heck did he see?!
“I never knew you were my biggest fan,” he smirked. Now it was my turn to blush.
“Well, you never asked. And yes, I am.” I stated.
“I think it’s cute that you’re my biggest fan slash stalker.”
“Yes it is—wait what? Stalker?” I questioned.
“Yeah, I don’t think anybody else watches my videos just to screen shoot hot pictures of me. I must say, excellent work.” I laughed.
“Only the best for you, Mitch.”
