*Sawyer's POV*

Harry and I were sitting on his couch on our second bottle of Pinot Noir. I was facing him with my legs up on the couch and on my side. He was sitting upright and facing me. It was such a casual thing for us to do. It was so unlike us to drink wine and talk. It was like nothing ever changed except for the fact that we were different. We were older, wiser.

"Do you like being a mom?" Harry asked me.

I smiled at the thought of Kinsley. I loved it. It was one of the greatest things that could ever happen.

"I love it. Kinsley is just so sweet and funny and she always wants to help me. She is so smart. It just makes me realize that my mom shouldn't have been a mother." I explained. "I literally wish that I could spend the whole day with her, but of course, I have to work."

"Where does she go?" Harry questioned.

"Well, she used to go to Keeton's mom's place until I picked her up, but now I guess, I have to get a nanny." I told him.

Harry put more wine in our glasses. I could feel myself getting lighter and feeling tipsier the more I drank.

"Why did you invite me to your wedding?" Harry asked changing the subject completely.

I looked down then looked up at him.

"I didn't want to. I knew it would hurt you. My mom told me that I should because you are family. You didn't come so it doesn't even matter." I said the last few words softly.

It would have actually been nice if he came. It would have meant that he supported me during that time and perhaps I could have explained what was going on, but I still hadn't explained the situation to him.

"I did come, Sawyer." He said sternly.

My eyes widened at his words. We cleared his throat before he continued.

"I came. You looked beautiful." He continued.

"But... I didn't see you." I said softly. "I looked everywhere for you and I didn't see you."

"I left in the middle of the ceremony. I tried to stay, but I couldn't. I didn't want to see you marrying another man." Harry explained.

I shook my head and took another sip of wine as he did.

"I married him because he wanted to have a wife. He knew he was going to die, so I said that I was going to marry him. I was having his child anyhow and I didn't want my child to live separately from both of her parents like I did. I didn't want that." I explained.

He nodded his head. His jaw tensed up and I knew he was uncomfortable by the way he began shifting on the couch.

"I can't wait to meet her." Harry said with a smile.

I smiled back at him and shifted myself closer to him. I could feel the heat radiating off of him the closer that I got to him.

"How about tomorrow? I'm going to get her from Orange County and then we could go out and have a late lunch if you want." I suggested.

I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. We still had so much to catch up on.

"Uh, yeah, I could take off tomorrow. Just call me whenever you are on your way back." Harry explained.

I nodded my head with approval.

"I think I'm going to head out." I said putting my empty wine glass on the table.

I grabbed my shoes and stood up from the couch. Harry stood up with me with a look of sadness in his eyes.

"Leaving so soon?" He asked.
