(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

The library was a complete mess.

Broken glass covered the floor.

Smoke filled the air.

And standing in the middle of it all was Kurapika.

Completely different from the person I knew.

His scarlet eyes glowed violently.

The chains around his hand trembled slightly.

"...Kurapika." I called out quietly.

No response.

It was like he couldn't hear me anymore.

The man from the Phantom Troupe laughed.

"What's wrong?"

"You look upset."

The moment he said that—

Kurapika disappeared.

My eyes widened.

FAST.

WAY TOO FAST.

CRASH!

The attacker flew straight through one of the bookshelves.

The entire room shook violently.

Even Asael looked surprised.

"...His rage is affecting his Nen output." Asael muttered.

Angela's expression darkened.

"This is bad."

Kurapika slowly walked toward the attacker.

Chain dragging across the floor.

Clink.

Clink.

Clink.

Every step made my chest tighten.

The attacker coughed before grinning again.

"So the Kurta brat still remembers us—"

Before he could finish—

Kurapika grabbed him by the throat.

The chains immediately wrapped around the man's body.

My breath caught in my throat.

The look in Kurapika's eyes terrified me.

There was no hesitation.

No calmness.

No control.

Only hatred.

Pure hatred.

"Kurapika stop!" Angela suddenly yelled.

But he didn't listen.

The chains tightened harder.

The attacker started choking.

One of the other intruders suddenly rushed toward Kurapika from behind.

"Asael!" Angela shouted.

"I know."

Before the intruder could touch Kurapika—

SLASH!

Asael instantly appeared in front of him.

Blood splattered across the floor.

The intruder stumbled back while holding his shoulder.

"...Tch."

Asael calmly wiped the blood off his blade.

"How annoying."

I stared at my brother in shock.

Wait...

Since when was he THIS strong?!

Meanwhile—

Kurapika still hadn't moved.

The man trapped within the chains started laughing weakly.

"You really are blinded by revenge..."

Kurapika's chains trembled violently.

"...Shut up."

"Or what?" the man smirked despite choking.

"You'll kill me?"

Silence.

The room suddenly became still.

And for the first time...

Kurapika hesitated.

The man laughed again.

"Pairo would've hated what you've become."

Everything froze.

Kurapika's eyes widened.

The chains loosened slightly.

Angela immediately stepped forward.

"Kurapika..."

"...don't."

Her voice sounded almost pleading.

The scarlet glow in his eyes flickered.

Slowly...

Kurapika let go.

The attacker dropped onto the floor coughing.

Everyone stayed silent.

But before anyone could react—

BOOM!

A smoke bomb exploded.

"Dammit!" Asael cursed.

Smoke quickly filled the room again.

When it finally cleared...

They were gone.

Only broken glass and blood remained.

Silence filled the library.

Kurapika quietly stared at his trembling hands.

Then slowly...

His scarlet eyes faded.

And somehow...

He suddenly looked even more broken than before.
