Slayer

It begins

Fairy Tail was its lively self.
It was buzzing with the cheers and laughs of it members.
Natsu was shoving food in his mouth while Lucy looked on with a mix of amusement, disgust, and unbelieving.

Master Makarov jumped on the stage and yelled "Everybody listen up!"
Everyone froze and looked to where their guild master stood.
He had a serious expression on his face and his hands behind his back.
"I must ask a favor of you. Very soon a very dear friend of mine will visiting us. Everyone must be on their best behavior while he is here."
"Why?" Natsu called muffled by the food in his mouth.
"Because his apprentice is looking at guilds to join and she must chose Fairy Tail!"
Mira popped up behind him with darkness over her eyes.  "You wouldn't be planning anything with her would you Master?" Mira said darkly.
Makarov flinched and then gave a loud chuckle. "Oh course not!"
The blush on his cheeks faded and he looked down turning back to his serious expression. "But another reason I want her to join is because she's extremely powerful. I fear for her if she should join a dark guild."
Erza stood up. "Master? You've never acted like this. I don't understand why she must join us."
"Truthfully I'd be fine with any guild she joined as long as it isn't a dark guild but my friend is even older than I am and the reason he's making her join a guild is because he is dying. I want to have a part of my old friend here. I know it would make him happy to see her safe with us." Makarov looked up. "So please welcome my friend and apprentice when they come."
"Of course we will" Natsu said.
Makarov smiled at the dragon slayer.

It was an hour later when the doors were pushed open. All looked over anxious to see the old friend Makarov had talked about.
In walked an old man with a long white beard. His dark eyes were calm as he walked up the aisle to where Makarov stood. They smiled seeing each other.
"Makarov, it's been a long time" he said in a creaky voice.
"Master Fuji. It's excellent to see you again."
"Your guild is thriving and filled with wonderful talent. I can't believe such strong wizards for some reason decided to listen to you."
Lucy fell back.
Makarov laughed. "It seemed like a miracle to me as well."
Master Fuji stood in front of Makrov smiling with closed eyes. His hands clasped behind his back, and his robe beaming with how bright it was.
"Finally we reached you. My apprentice is quite upset with me." He laughed. "But if I recall you were quite moody as well."
All gasped.
Natsu sprang up. "This old geezer is your master??!"
"Natsu!!" Makarov growled.
Master Fuji chuckled lightly. "Yes I can see my apprentice fitting in quite well here."
Makarov grew bigger and scolded the dragon slayer. "What did I say earlier about being on your best behavior!!?"
Natsu chuckled. "Oh my bad gramps."
"Don't be so harsh Makarov. If I remember you used to be just as rambunctious and free spirited, and look how well you turned out."
Makarov smiled looking down.
"So where is this guy?" Natsu asked.
"Guy?" Master Fuji repeated.
"Yeah, gramps said your apprentice was joining a guild. So where is he?"
Master Fuji chuckled. "Oh yes." He looked towards the door. "Come in dear!"
"Dear?!" Natsu repeated.
Though the doors walked woman with mint green hair and a bored expression on her face. Her eyes were a piercing gold.
She was beautiful. Tall with a curvy figure. Her body was currently covered by a similar white robe like Master Fuji wore.
She walked up to him and stared at the short man in orange and studied him intently.
"Why so shy my dear?" Master Fuji asked.
"I'm not" she said just as boredly as she looked. "I was surveying all their power. Is this really the strongest guild?"
Natsu jumped at her with fire burning out of his mouth. "What was that?! We're the strongest guild around and if I have to prove it we can fight it out!"
She just glanced at him her golden eyes unchanging. "A fire dragon slayer. It would be a fun fight but I see it only lasting a few seconds."
Natsu went from shocked to furious. "A few seconds?!!? You won't be saying that when I beat you!"
Master Fuji chuckled at his spunk. "Now their's no need to fight. But tell me how strong the guild is."
She scanned her eyes over all the members staring at her. "They're strong. Stronger than the other weaklings we saw before. Just being their was an insult to my power. But that so I surpassed Makarov's power years ago."
The guild went quieter than before. All were in shock. They questioned if such a young wizard could really be stronger than their master. Many disbelieving.
Master Fuji laughed. "You were always so humble."
Master Fuji himself scanned the members and saw the budding potential. "Yes this will do. You shall join Fairy Tail."
"Yes Master."
"Makarov please do me the honor of taking on my apprentice."
Makarov smiled with big eyes. "I would be honored master."
Then he turned to his guild. "Everyone meet the newest member to Fairy Tail, Arvis Slayer."
Master Fuji turned to her. "This is goodbye my dear."
Arvis turns to him as well and frowned.
"Now don't get all mushy on me Arvis" he chuckled. "You were a great student and I'm glad I got to train you. But our paths must diverge. You'll be safe and happy here."
Arvis knelt down on one knee. "Master, it was an honor to be taught by you. I will forever hold the lessons you taught me."
He chuckled. "This is for you." He pulled out a gold collar.
She gasped shocked. "You made me a collar?" she said quietly. She took it with gentle fingers. "Thank you master."
"Be safe my dear." He began to walk out. "And remember, to stay closed is to never let change and without change there cannot be happiness. Do not be afraid my dear. You're surrounded by friends now."
Arvis bowed her head and bit her lip hating the separation from the only family she ever knew.
"Makarov!"
Makarov watched his master slowly walk out with tear filled eyes. "I am so proud of what you've grown up to be. You've brought such happiness to me many times. And now I need you to do me a favor. Guide Arvis. Her power is great but without a kind heart and a family filled of love I fear the darkness consuming her. Goodbye my dear friend."
After that he walked out the door and vanished.
