Arvis woke up the next day with a throbbing headache. She moved extremely slow as she got ready for the day.
When she went downstairs to join the rest of the guild it was noisy as usual. She groaned sitting next to Laxus and putting her head on his shoulder. Laxus blushed but smoothly accepted her snuggle. "Are you feeling better Arvis?"
"Better I suppose" she whispered, "But my head is killing me."
Makarov butt in, sitting across from the couple. "It's most likely due to all that dark magic. I'm surprise you're even up and walking."

A little later Arvis was becoming very fed up with constant racket coming from the guilds rowdy members.
She groaned pushing harder into Laxus wishing all the noise would stop.
"Still not feeling well?" Laxus asked her.
"No. My head is pounding."
"I have an idea" Laxus said. He rose and held out his hand. "I think I know a spot that you'll like."
Arvis took his hand and stood up eager to find some quiet.
Laxus took her for a small walk to a nearby small forest. They sat at the edge of the forest against a tree.
Arvis took a deep breath and let it out. She closed her eyes and laid her head against the trunk of the tree. "This is perfect" she breathed.
Laxus chuckled. "I thought you might like it."

They say their in silence for what felt like hours. Arvis was absolutely content to just sit by him as her awful headache disappeared.
Laxus got a call from Mira and got up to answer it. He walked a few feet away and said, "Hello?"
Arvis tuned his conversation out, focusing on the slight breeze.
She was enjoying herself when she heard a little whimper. She looked around and nothing had changed beside Laxus walking a few feet further away.
Arvis walked into the woods wondering where the sound came from. She found out quickly seeing a wounded fox limp out of the bushes. But it wasn't just any fox. This fox had two tails.
Arvis looked at him intrigued. The poor thing looked like he'd just gotten beaten up.
She gently scooped him up and the small fox put up a minimal struggle, weak from its injuries. Arvis tenderly stoked his head making her way back to the guild.
She was almost there when Laxus caught up to her. "What're you doing?" he asked.
She moved the tiny fox out so he could see it curled in her arms. "I found him in those woods. He's injured and I want to take care of his wounds." Arvis noticed the fox's uneasy and felt bad he was in so much distress.
"You should be careful. He's a wild animal" Laxus warned.
Arvis paid him no mind continuing on.
At the guild she gently began treating his wounds. Laxus watched with an alert gaze should the fox try anything.
The fox had a wound on his back leg and one of his tails.
After bandaging him Arvis was petting his back when the fox growled and bit the side of her hand.
"Oww" she cringed. But she made no move. Not even a struggle to make the fox release her.
"Hey!" Laxus yelled angry. He knew that damned fox would hurt her.

The fox released her soft flesh from its mouth and laid against the table Arvis had put him on to care for him. He put his ears down and looked at Arvis with an apologetic expression.
Laxus was going to discipline the fox but Arvis stopped him, grabbing his hand.
"Leave him be Laxus. He must be petrified."
The fox took notice to her helping him and as a sorry licked her bleeding wound. Arvis chuckled at him. "Do you feel better now?" she asked sweetly.

"Whatcha got there Arvis?" Natsu asked coming over. Lucy and Gray were behind him and looked just as curious as the fire dragon slayer.
"Is that a fox?" Lucy asked.
"Yes. I found him in the woods."
Gray looked at the fox with a raised brow. "Looks like he took a good beating."
Lucy reached her hand out to pet him. The fox shied away and quickly hid behind Arvis' hand.
Arvis giggled. "Oh now you like me?"
The fox rubbed against her hand, nudging the inside of her palm with his head and cold nose.

That night Arvis was sat at a table petting her fox with her uninjured hand. The fox had attached to her extremely quickly, finding comfort in her arms.
Levy and Lucy came over at sat at the table with her. The fox got scared by their appearance and crawled up her chest and hid around her neck, peeking out from her green hair.
"Hi guys" she chuckled, nuzzling the fox around her neck.
"Wow Lucy told me you found a fox but I didn't believe her. Are you gonna keep him?" Levy asked.
"I think so. He's still just a baby."
"What are you gonna name him?" Lucy asked.
"I was thinking Rafa."
Laxus walked over holding a bag and red cheeks. "Here" he said dropping the bag on the table. "I got what you wanted." He looked away from Arvis with flaming cheeks.
"What's wrong with you?" Arvis asked.
Laxus frowned. "When I bought the bottles the woman thought I was a father."
Arvis laughed loudly, finding Laxus' embarrassment funny and adorable.
"Shut up!" he growled stomping off.
Arvis quickly made a bottle of milk and sat back down with Levy and Lucy.
She grabbed Rafa and sat him in her lap. He instantly tried to crawl back up but she held him down. She put the nipple of the bottle to his mouth and not understanding what it was he tried to twist away, refusing to open his mouth.
"Rafa" she cooed. He stilled looking up at her. "You need to eat." In his distraction she got the nipple in his mouth and tipped it up so the milk would drip into his mouth. He struggled at first but then he stopped and she felt it when he began sucking, moving the bottle with every draw. As she guessed he was starving. He was a glutton finishing the bottle in just a few minutes.
She pulled the bottle away and saw the nipple was destroyed by his chewing on it.  "Well I guess I'm gonna have to buy some more" she breathed.

Arvis had been taking care of Rafa for a week and he'd become more at ease being in the guild. Though he was still mainly comfortable around Arvis, he would accept a pet from Laxus or Makarov.

Arvis was feeding Rafa at a table in the guild and Makarov chatted quietly with her. Rafa had grown a lot since she had taken him in. As she guessed he hadn't eaten in a while.
He'd nearly tripled in size. His wounds had healed and he was a happy little fox. Arvis assumed his second tail was nothing more than a slight mutation.
Rafa finished the bottle and let go immediately once it was dry. Rafa hopped up into the table and looked up at Arvis with a
playful smile. She reached out to pet him but instead he rolled on his back and pawed at her hand with gentle claws. He was careful not to hurt her.
"That little fox was lucky you found him."
Arvis smiled at her masters comment. "I wonder how he separated from his family."
"He was probably abandoned" Makarov said with narrowed eyes.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"The world of animals is much harder than ours. Animals with mutations or deformities, or are just simply weak are usually abandoned by their families. I suspect this little guy was a victim of that harsh truth." Makarov took a long drink. "He's found a new family with you."
Arvis snuck a finger past his defenses and rubbed his stomach. Rafa made an adorable little noise. It was a mix between a whimper and a purr.
Arvis raised a brow never having heard him make such a noise. "That was a cute little noise Rafa."
She rubbed that same spot and he seemed to go limp under her petting. He began panting his tongue hanging out as he looked at her with a trance like glazed over expression.
"I think I found Rafa's sweet spot" she cooed, continuing to rub.
Suddenly spiky pink began rising over the side of the table. Natsu slowly popped up with Happy right under his chin, both with wide eyes and shocked expressions. "How are you doing that?" Natsu asked. He stared at the subdued fox that usually nipped at at him. Though Rafa didn't bite to be mean, he nipped playfully but his teeth were so sharp they broke the skin no matter what.
Arvis chuckled. "I found his sweet spot."
Rafa shivered, a small puddle of drool by him.
"A sweet spot?" Natsu asked.
"Mhmmm, everyone has a sweet spot." Natsu grabbed Happy and began poking him all over.
"Hey! Stop that!" Happy yelled swatting away Natsu's fingers with his little paws.
"Would you like yo pet him? This may be your only chance" Arvis pointed out.
Natsu let his friend be and hesitantly reached out to pet the fox's side. He seemed excited and he pet the fox for the first time without getting bit.
But then Rafa woke up from his trance and snapped at the dragon slayer. Natsu yelled yanking his hand away.
Arvis chuckled. "Sorry Natsu, I forgot to keep rubbing his belly."
