"C'mon Els, you've got to eat!" Anna sounded furious. She was standing outside my bedroom which I had locked. Her fists were hitting the wooden doors surface multiple times. I just ignored her. I ignored everything since my discovery of Jack working with them.
I sighed when I got up and strolled my way to the bathroom which was connected to my bedroom. Anna and I had gone home for the weekend, as usual. And I had my own bathroom here. Our dorm was too small for two bathrooms so we shared. But here I had privacy.
I randomly placed myself on the scale and I sighed when I saw that I had lost another pound. I had lost my appetite. I cried myself to sleep at night, I couldn't believe it. I thought he felt the same way. How could someone like Jack turn out like this?
"Get yourself together, you foolish girl." I mocked at myself while I looked up at my reflection in the mirror. I barely recognized myself. There were dark circles under my eyes from the lack of sleep and a smile was impossible to find.
I heard my alarm going off, I woke up before my alarm which usually never happens. I walked over towards my bedside table and turned the annoying thing off. It was a saturday and I had to go to my father's company. I walked over towards my closet and I grabbed a pair of leggings and a long light blue shirt. I didn't need to wear formal business suits, atleast not yet. Next year will be different.
I decided to take a quick shower and after that I dressed myself and pulled my hair back in a bun. I applied more make up than usual because I had to conceal those large dark circles under my eyes. When I was done, I looked a lot more 'alive'. Make up really could work miracles.
I unlocked my door and luckily Anna had already given up on waiting for me. I almost tripped over a tray of food when I wanted to leave my room. I looked down and saw that Anna had made me breakfast. On the tray stood a glass of orange juice and a pancakes with chocolate syrup, my favorite. It was a really sweet gesture, she did care a lot about me. But I wasn't hungry, not at all. I picked the tray up and walked downstairs towards the kitchen. I placed the tray on the counter and I made myself some coffee.
After I quickly drank my coffee I took my jacket and my carkeys. I ran towards our garage and I got in my car.
The traffic was really slow and it was getting on my nerves. I turned on the radio to distract myself. I was hoping I could find a nice song to listen to but I ended up listening to the news instead since there wasn't much to listen to. I wasn't really paying attention to the radio until I heard the name of the Boogeyman gang. I turned up the volume and listened carefully.
Are they still in Burgess or have they really moved their location to New York? The people of Burgess were very confused when they found out that yet another crime has been commited by two members of the gang. This time they decided to steal the money from a fundraising organazation, people donated their money for homeless people on the streets of America. Jamie Bennett, the founder of the organization has managed to catch a glimpse of one the criminals. He describes him as a tall and slender guy, not older than 20 and he has white hair. The police is trying to solve the case.
I angrily turned off the radio. "Really, Jack?" I said while my voice cracked. This wasn't him, this can't be him. But what proof do I have? My emotions are all messed up. I love him, it's obvious that I don't want to believe this. I need to face reality, I'm no longer living in that dream. Dreams are always too good to be true. Jack was a dream, he's not for real. He turned out to be a criminal. Too good to be true.
The streetboy that I met doesn't exist.

"Okay, see you on Monday. Love you, bye." I had the widest smile plastered on my face after a one hour phone call with Eugene. We both went home for the weekend, our parents still didn't know about us dating. Well, atleast my parents. Eugene told me his parents died in a car accident, I feel really bad for him. He lives with his aunt and uncle, they weren't able to get their own children so they took Eugene in after the accident, he was only a couple months old.
