''Where have you been, man?'' I heard someone saying loudly behind me. I was walking through the streets around the shopping area. I startled and turned around.
''Al! Didn't expect to see you.'' I chuckled while we gave each other a fist bump.
''So what have you been up to?'' Aladdin asked me and he walked with me towards the alleys. He was also someone who lived on the streets. He was like a brother to me but he moved to other cities sometimes but he eventually came back to Burgess.
''Uh...n-nothing much. I guess the usual?'' I shrugged my shoulders.
''I know that look, something's up. Did you get caught at the bakery?'' He laughed while he patted my back.
''No! Of course not.'' I chuckled nervously. Should I tell him about Elsa? Nah, no. I mean, it's just a silly crush. He will probably laugh at me and make jokes about the fact that she's rich and I'm well, poor, a streetrat call it whatever you like.
''Well, if you have nothing much to tell then I will.'' He grinned and I rolled my eyes. ''I have a girlfriend.'' He blurted out.
''A girlfriend? How'd you do that?'' I asked.
''Her name's Jasmine, she's a real sweetheart. Her parents don't know about us though. You know, the same old story. Parents want their children to have a BRIGHT future and well, people like us are just not welcome. We don't fit into their world.''
''What are you planning to do?'' I asked curiously.
''Why all the interest in all of a sudden? You never showed interest in girls. Wait, I know! You met one! I can see it!'' He laughed in excitement. ''Tell me about her, dude!''
''It's nothing, we're just friends.'' I sighed.
''Ah, friend zoned. That sucks. What does she look like? Tall, thin, short, chubby? Tell me more!''
''Well, she's average height I guess. Not extremely tall and certainly not short. She's thin. Uh, she has long platinum blonde hair and the most stunning blue eyes I've ever seen. She has this cute small nose with some light freckles. And her smile is just- ''
''Whoa, whoa! Dude, do you hear yourself? You're deeply in LOVE. Extremely friend zoned. Anyway what's her name?'' Aladdin asked.
''Elsa, Her name is Elsa.'' I said while we walked through the alleys towards my dumpster.
To my beautiful surprise she stood there, waiting for me. My face lightened up immediately. She looked a bit unsure from me to Aladdin.
''Who's this Jack?'' She asked.
''This is Aladdin. He's a friend.''
''Ah! You must be Elsa! You know he can't shut up about you.'' Aladdin teased me while he shook Elsa's hand. She chuckled a bit. Thanks a lot, Al.
"Jack? Can I speak with you?" She asked suddenly and glanced nervously at Aladdin. "Alone?"
''Oh sure! I'm headed to Jasmine anyway.'' He chuckled and patted my back. ''See you, buddy!''
After Aladdin had left, Elsa started to play with her hands nervously.
''So, uh, I guess I'm here to say goodbye.'' She whispered while she looked down, like she was afraid to look at me.
''G-goodbye? But Els, the schoolyear isn't over yet.''
''I know, Jack.'' She whispered. ''But a new boarding school opened which is only a two hour drive from my home town. My dad wants us to come home more often, especially me, he wants me to come work at his bank in the weekends.'' She sighed.
