परदेसिया, मिला है तू मुझे जब से,
मैं क़ैद हूँ तेरे ही प्यार में तब से।

"So, what do you think?" Shivya asked her husband after taking one last look around the apartment that was going to become their new home from now on.

Her eyes wandered across the small living room, the compact kitchen, and finally toward the bedroom. It was not luxurious, not grand, and definitely nowhere close to what either of them had been used to, but there was something warm and peaceful about it.

Vedant, however, did not look nearly as convinced. His gaze shifted toward the bedroom once again, and his expression instantly soured. The room was barely one-third the size of what he was used to. After a few moments, he nodded reluctantly. "We should've rented the other one."

Shivya didn't say anything, not a single word. She simply stood there with both arms folded across her chest, staring at him in complete silence.

Vedant immediately shifted under her gaze. "Don't look at me like that, Sona."

The way Shivya was staring at him suddenly made him feel like he was standing in front of a strict teacher waiting for getting scold. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously, and her brows slowly pulled together as she looked at him with a seriousness that felt almost intimidating.

Then, with an expression so genuine that it caught him completely off guard, she asked, "Mujhe bhi chahiye?"

"Kya?" Vedant blinked in confusion, staring at her blankly, because he had fully expected her to scold him, call him the dumbest person she had ever met, or at least throw something at his face.

Instead, she calmly walked toward him. Stopping right in front of him, she tilted her head slightly and narrowed her eyes. "Wahi jo aapne phooka hai."

For a second, Vedant simply stared at her. Then he bit the inside of his cheek hard to stop himself from smiling.

There she was.

His wife.

"Because there is absolutely no way you think fifty thousand rent and two lakhs as security for a one-bedroom apartment is a great deal, and that too without furniture!" she exclaimed, throwing both hands into the air in disbelief.

Vedant cleared his throat and bent down slightly so she wouldn't have to tilt her head up to look at him, trying to defend himself and somehow prove his argument made sense. "But your office is close to that place," he said carefully. "You wouldn't have to travel much."

Shivya stared at him as if he had just spoken the most ridiculous sentence she had ever heard in her entire life.

"Vedant, do you even know what locality that is?" she asked, disbelief written all over her face. "Only rich people live there. People who earn lakhs and crores every month stay there."
