"Happy Married Life, Shivya Pathak" I weakly smiled seeing my condition, mangalsutra dangling in my neck, vermilion in hair and both hands filled with gold bangles.
"Come out quickly or do you want me to break the gate," my husband knocked again...

I changed Vedant's best friend's name from Ekansh to Kridit Ahalawat. I had informed everyone on my channel, but I completely forgot to add a note about it in this chapter.
Sorry, guys! 🤍
"Stop staring at your phones and start speaking," Vedant said with complete seriousness as he looked at his two best friends, Ashray and Kridit, seated across from him.
Both of them had come to buy cars from the same showroom where Vedant worked. Even though it was Sunday, he had decided to come in anyway because working on weekends meant double the usual pay, and he needed the extra money.
Unfortunately for him, the moment the deal was done, both Ashray and Kridit had practically dragged him to a nearby restaurant for lunch.
And now, instead of discussing business or eating in peace, the three grown men were debating whether Shivya liked Vedant based solely on the emojis she sent him along with her texts.
Kridit pinched the bridge of his nose as he stared at the screenshots Vedant had forwarded moments ago. After studying them for several seconds, he finally announced, "I think she loves you."
Vedant's eyes widened so much that it looked physically painful. He practically leaned halfway across the table. "What?... What did you just say?"
"I said," Kridit repeated patiently, "I think she loves you." For one glorious second, happiness exploded inside Vedant's chest. Then Ashray ruined everything, "I don't think so."
The happiness immediately stumbled and fell flat on its face. Vedant slowly turned toward him with a deep frown. Why?"
Ashray casually put his phone aside and picked up his Americano."What do you mean, why?" he asked. "Just because someone uses heart emojis in a text doesn't automatically mean they're in love with you."
Vedant looked personally offended by Ashray's statement. His brows drew together as though the man had just questioned not only his intelligence but the entire foundation of his marriage.
Across from him, Kridit sat upright in his chair, his shoulders stiff with conviction and irritation. There was no uncertainty in his posture. He looked like a lawyer preparing for a trial that existed only inside his own head.
Kridit wasn't someone who participated in conversations unless absolutely necessary. Most of the time, he sat through discussions with the expression of a man being forced to endure a punishment he didn't deserve."What the fuck do you mean it doesn't mean that?"
Ashray, meanwhile, remained the only relaxed person at the table. He leaned back in his chair, one ankle resting over his knee as he took a slow sip of his coffee.
"It means exactly what I said," he replied, lowering the cup. "People use emojis all the time. Just because someone uses a heart emoji doesn't mean they're in love with you."
