I left my morning class grateful that it was Friday because it was my only one. Those 2 hours really flew by and the reason was probably because I was thinking of Khari the whole time. The little episode we had this morning only had me wanting more of him, and I couldn't stop smiling to myself.
Since we were now official, it was time to tell the others.
I searched around for my phone in my person and scrolled to Taylor's name.
"Well look who it is, my long lost bestfriend."
"Hey babe" I pouted, feeling guilty that we hadn't been talking like usual. If I wasn't with Khari then I was at work or
school. I know that wasn't an excuse, but I had never been good at juggling too many things at once. I felt like if we knew where we stood in each other's lives, there's no need to constantly chase each other down. We were adults.
"What's up? I miss you girl"
"I talked to you last week Taylor."
"Yea, Soooooo?" She drug out the last word.
"Bruh I swear, I feel like I'm in a relationship with you."
"We are in a relationship. You know you bae."
I began laughing. "Speaking of relationships." I mumbled.
"What was that?"
"We gotta talk, where you at?"
"I'm on my way to Joshua dem store, my baby was hungry."
"Oh.." I spoke remembering that Khari might be there too. Fuck it, we might as well tell them together. ".. I'm on my way."
"Kk! See you in a few."
I tapped the red circle button and headed towards the place.
Walking in, the cool air hit my face and there was tons of people inside. I guess they were really busy.
I walked to the back, probably where Taylor was in Joshua's office. I knocked quietly and then proceeded to enter.
"Care bear, what you doin here? I thought somebody kidnapped yo ass." Joshua looked up from his chicken smacking his lips and licking his fingers.
"Damn, slow down. Yo food ain't gonna run nowhere."
He waved me off and went back to eating.
Taylor engulfed me in a hug and I took a seat in one of the chairs in front of Joshua's desk.
"So what's up? What did you want to talk about?" She got straight to the point, stealing one of Joshua's fries.
He smacked her hand from it and attempted to push her off of his lap.
"I umm.. Figured I should just tell yall since we're getting pretty serious now."
Taylor nodded her head for me to keep going and Joshua's eyes focused in on my neck. Dammit, I'm going to kill Khari.
"Me and-"
"Good. I thought yall niggas was gonna be stupid enough to go back and do that shit." Khari walked in talking with Dontell behind him but stopped when he saw us. ".. Aye, wassup?"
"Go back and do what?" Taylor asked confused. Shit, I was confused too. Joshua shifted in his seat a bit, "Stop bein nosey."
"Just some business shit... Joshua ain't tell me yall was here." He locked eyes with Joshua and gave him a stern look before looking over at me with his look softened. I immediately began blushing and rubbing on my neck.
