You don't know how characters feel until you put yourself in their shoes.
The author could say that they're sad, mad, confused... but you don't know the half of what it really means.
Just try reading something. Something sad, happy, I don't care. But this time, put yourself in the characters shoes.
Feel what they feel.
They may not be real, or in that situation, but it's amazing to realize how it feels.
How angry they are.
How upset they are.
It just brightens up the already amazing words and sentences.
Puts a good twist into it.
It makes you them. And that's a fantastic feeling.
