Justin and I have been sneaking out every night to the beach. We do the same thing, sit on top of the rocks watching the waves as we reminisce about us. Justin always drops me home early when Sam is sleeping over but today we fell asleep on the beach and he dropped me home late.

I walked through the door quietly hoping Sam was probably still sleeping, I closed the door and placed my keys on the hook.

"Where the hell have you been?" The sound of Sam's voice makes me jump.

"I went for a run." The lie just slithers right out of my mouth.

"You're lying." He follows me into the bedroom.

"Then would you like to tell me where I've been?" I ask him while I take off my sweater.

"I don't know but I know it wasn't running." He scoffs.

"Believe what you want Sam, you're in my way and I have to get ready for work." I make my way past Sam and into the bathroom.

I wrap my hair in a bun and step into the hot shower, I take a quick shower then hop out. I wipe the foggy mirror and dry my body. When I got out the bathroom Sam wasn't in the room and I was relieved because I didn't feel like arguing.

I went to my dresser and picked out my bra and matching panties, I sit at my vanity and apply my makeup. I quickly curled my hair with a curling wand then began putting on my clothes.

Since it was a nice day today, I wore a white top, my red pencil skirt, black strapped heels, and my Michael Kors purse.

"I'm leaving so if you want you should leave too." I glance at Sam sitting on the couch.

"I will." Sam eyes me as I'm reaching for my keys.

"Bye." I walk out the door and head towards the elevator, as I'm waiting to reach the lobby my phone buzzes.

Justin
Sorry for bringing you home so late. 9:38 AM

Leslie
It's alright, it's not your fault 9:38 AM.

Justin
What are you doing? 9:39 AM

I exit the elevator and walk out the building to the parking lot, it took about 5 minutes to walk to my car. I got in, fixed my mirrors, turned on the radio, put my seatbelt on, and texted Justin before I started driving.

Leslie
Going to work, I'll text you later 9:51 AM.

The drive to my store took so long due to the traffic, some idiot was holding everyone up. I look down at my watch and groan at the fact that I'm going to be late, between what happened with Sam and I this morning and now this I'm beyond irritated.

I finally arrive to my boutique and there's already a bunch of people inside buying clothes, from teens to adults, they were all over the place.

"Good morning Ms. Velasquez." One of my employees, Kimberly says.

"Good morning Kimberly, and just call me Leslie." I smile to her.

"I'll be in my office, I'll be out in a few." I walk to the back of the store where my office is located. I enter and immediately the smell of coconut fills the air causing me to smile.

I stare at my office and the fact that I have my own store feels so surreal. I turn on my computer and begin going through all my emails. My head snaps up when I hear the knocking on my door.

"Come in." I project my voice.

My eyes were still focused on the screen so I didn't pay attention as to who came in.
