Chasing Shadows (Lego Ninjago)

Chapter 1: Four, not five

Kai, Cole, Zane, Jay.

Fire, Earth, Ice, Lighting.

Red, Black, White, Blue.

They were the four Elemental Ninja, they were the Protectors of Ninjago, more importantly; they were brothers. They have been for years, nothing could get inbetween them. They have always been four.

No-one said anything about a fifth.

"I do not understand.." Zane mumbled, again. For like, the third time.

"Sensei, you never said there was another one of us. We thought we were the only ones" Cole spoke up.

"The spirits only gave me this riddle, that is all we have to figure out the mystery. I did not know.." Sensei muttered aloud looking down at the note.

"But you are Sensei! You know everything! You have a long white beard and a walking stick!" Jay proclaimed throwing his arms out.

The Ninja and Sensei Wu had placed to brown, torn note on the wooden table a 1hour and 30minutes ago. The group was inside one of the smaller rooms of their base, with a table and communication device in, not much compared to the rest.

The note itself had jagged rips along the top of its side, like something had been torn from it. They had read it so many times they would be saying it in their sleep for the next 10years. The squiggly deep purple writing read;

The saved Ninja, there Will come along,
Not to be Eluded, as next to you they belong.
As you will Soon realise, this isn't a myth,
You will soon find, The long lost fifth.

"The long lost fifth..what should we do? It says, this isn't a myth. You think we should look for this other Ninja?" Kai asked.

"Kai, your fire has melted your brain! It doesn't say where to look!" Jay squeaked.

"Thanks for pointing that out, Mr Obvious!" It was Kai who came back with the sarcasm.

"There has to be a clue or something on this note somewhere. Whoever sent it would have given us something..And what's that L in the bottom corner mean?" Cole said more enthusiastic than the others as he peered closed at the note.

"There's nothing! We looked! It's just a prank!" Jay facepalmed.

"I do not think it is, after the destruction of the Overlord, everyone is busy rebuilding New Ninjago City, nobody would make up a fifth Ninja" Zane contributed into the situation.

"I agree with Zane" Cole nodded, then Kai and Sensei.

"But what other Elements are there?" Jay seemed confused.

"Water"

"Nature"

"Light"

"Gravity"

"Okay, I get it!" Jay rose his voice. "Sensei, why hasn't he made a show? You found us, not him? Why?"

"I only believed there to be four. With four Golden Weapons, four Elemental Blades for the four known Elemental Masters. It seemed clear there was four Protectors of Ninjago and Green Ninja, but now..all belief has been shaken" The wise man spoke as he walked around the table to the aggravated Ninja.

"There must be something here!" Cole moaned as he slammed his fist onto the table just as Nya made an appearance.

"Nya, we told you-" Kai started.

"I know, I know" Nya interrupted her brother. "But I just wanted to know who this belongs too" She held up a small, brown note. Identical to the one the boys had been given by Wu earlier, but with rips in the bottom and top.

Placing the note on the table next to the other, Nya asked "Well, what are you guys up too?"

Kai sighed in defeat "There's supposably a fifth Ninja"
