Hello, all! Today is the first day of September, and I am ready for it. The lure of autumn is beckoning to me! Bring on the sweaters, boots, hot coffees, and cozy nights! Now that we've hit September, I suppose you'd like an update on what's going to come for AWC this month.
September Serenade is open for contestants! Below is the how-to's of entering.
1. Comment on September Serenade that you would like to enter to become apart.
2. Choose a Prompt from the provided prompt list for the month (when the list is provided).
3. Stay apart by occasionally leaving comments or sending me a PM now and then to let me know you're still involved and going to take part!
4. Add this book to your reading list or library to keep up with the updates. ALL updates contain information about the contest, so please stay in touch.
The entrance deadline is September 21st by 10:00 PM Pacific time!
If you have entered before the deadline, and the prompts are provided, PLEASE start working on your prompt immediately (when you have time) in order to have your entry posted early enough for me to read it and start the judging process.
Here's the rules:
1. Only write your entry based on the prompts provided.
2. No negative commenting on other's pieces.
3. All work must be original! Don't take from other contestants.
4. Minimal profanity, please!
5. No adult content (keep it PG-13)
6. All contestants must comment to be entered, as well as be active and continue to comment or PM me occasionally in order to still be considered apart.
The reason for Rule #6 is due to an issue I had with August's contest. Not enough people stayed active during the contest, so August was cancelled. Because of this, I am requiring all contestants at least vote, comment, or PM me if I PM you or if there's an update. I need to know you're still going to be apart and active (it makes me sad when you say you want to enter but I never hear back form you!). Please be active, and show your support for the contest!
The prompt list for September will be the ones that were originally August's, so please refer to the previous prompt chapter. When you have chosen your prompt, PM or comment you're working on it! All written pieces must be 5,000 words or less. Once your piece is finished, tag it with awcseptember2015 and comment on this chapter that it is finished.
I'm looking forward to more people joining and reading what everyone comes up with!
The deadline for the prompt entries is September 30th at 10:00 PM Pacific time.
Also! Previously I had stated that if any prompts are not used, I will take up a vote on which one (if there's multiple) I will turn into my own story. If there is only one, then I will simply use that one. The voting will take place in the club threads (I'll create a new discussion) and I'll provide the link in a future update. But I can't know until the end of the contest!
As always, happy writing!
