We held one another tightly as the summer rolled by
The haze went on and left me obliviousThen you began to fade
Fade into the drugs, the other girls
And the heat of the moment became a chill of the night
You said you didn't mean it and brought me flowers for the bruisesI didn't listen to my friends when they saw the wounds spread
"He said he didn't mean it"
They looked at me and said "Bullshit"Every day I watched and kept waiting
