During the day, you wait
The sun shines and you shrink in the shadows
Plotting and waiting
When night comes
You turn me colder
And realize how much older
My heart is
This tired mind
And caged voice
Ignite the anger
The rage
Regret and guilt
Everything I can't be
No matter how hard I try
I'd stayed clean for a while now
But you've just taken a vacation
And you're ready to bait me with aspirations
Emptier words than mine
Better lies than I tell
Because of you, I'll never be "well"
The pain you sell
Comes in abundance
I've got my money right here
You'll take me in this fear
The sun will rise again
But you're far from done
You've just begun
Taking my time
My energy
When I can't keep my fears at bay
You start the show
