Found this from two years ago huh...
We stare up at the ceiling, begging, screaming why
Why we cannot force our lidded eyes to close
To submit to the ebony of sleep
The ivory of the day is gone and we are stumbling in the darknessHelp we scream oh so silently
Screens take what they want from us and leave us crumpled and addicted
Addicted to the pain I put down
Hunger gnaws for the agony
Why can't I let go?
Why can't I sleep?
Oh, look, it's the ceiling againMy ears are deaf
I cannot hear
Even when You're near
I'm not good at poetry, but here's a few verses
About pain and the want, and all its curses
