Oh. my. gosh.
"There's been a lot of discussion about this video and what it means, but I'm just happy that in 2015, we live in a world where boys can play princesses and girls can play soldiers. Thank you all so much!"
Go, baby! That's my girl!
The thundering applause with whoops and cheers mixed in brought the biggest smile on Karlie's face. It might be her favorite sound in the world, only because it was what touched Taylor so deeply.
She had her goofy grin on, the one where that crinkles her eyes at the sides, while on stage and even after descending from it. Walking a ways ahead of Taylor as she stayed behind to talk to industry people and well-wishers congratulating her, Karlie wanted to jump up and down right there out of pure joy.
She did it! She won! We won! It's finally video of the year!
"Congratulations, ladies! Right this way please, go straight ahead for the exit," a group of frazzled looking show runners announced, waiting by the wings of the backstage and lining the hall to their exit, "Moving along, moving along- Can somebody hold that door open!"
Karlie extends a kind, thankful smile to the busied staff, but doesn't really hear them as she's already busy with her phone, I wonder if they've already put up a video of Tay's speech online? I want a copy of that! Dang it, if I wasn't there onstage with her, I would've taken it myself!
"Hey Martha, do you think they already have a video of Tay's speech up?" she looks back to her blonde friend and sees her with a scowl, "Whaat?"
"Karlie, you need to chill, babe," Martha laughs while wrapping an arm around the taller girl's waist as they walked side-by-side, "We literally just got offstage and you're already looking for a video to go all heart-eyes over, too?"
"What!? Not a chance, Hunt!" Karlie sticks her tongue out at her friend, "I just want to keep a copy of that historic moment! For the vlogs and all, you know."
"Oh-kay," the older blonde gives her a knowing look before rolling her eyes and smiling to herself, "Go and check on your little Tumblr while you're at it, I think the fans will agree with me on this. Hah!"
Karlie says nothing as they round the corner, walking through the next set of doors into yet another hallway. Instead, she checks her phone, and turns a darker shade of red laughing softly to herself while her heart flutters in her chest.

"Taylor! Over here, Taylor!" "Taylor! Congratulations on the win! How does it feel?" "Taylor could you smile for us, please!"
Taylor's head was swimming. She'd just said a speech in front of thousands of people and finally made it backstage, where there were even more people crammed into such a small space. God, it's like everybody's in here!
Between all the show organizers, other industry people, award winners, and their respective entourages, there was only one person on Taylor's mind: Karlie!
Taylor cranes her neck and scans the room for any sign of her girlfriend and where she went off to, "Hey Tree, have you seen Karlie?", she asks, not even looking back to her publicist while waiting for the response.
"She went ahead with Joseph, Martha and the other girls, I think," Tree replies, "We'll catch up with-"
Oh god, please tell me she hasn't left yet! I can't let her leave without saying goodbye!
"Excuse me," Taylor approaches one of the staff holding the door open for them, stopping herself from bouncing up and down as she asks, "Have you seen my friend Karlie? She's tall, kinda giraffe-like, blonde, green eyes, wearing a gorgeous orange dress with gold sandals!"
"Why, yes, Miss Swift! She just went through here and down the hall a few moments ago," the man smiles at her and points in the direction of where the others had gone.
Taylor's eyes lit up, and she took off after her girlfriend down the hallway full of people, "Thank you!", she yelled back to the man at the door while Tree calls after her.
"Taylor, wait! Be careful, don't run in those heels -you could fall!"
The blonde tore through the crowd like a madwoman, nearly knocking over a couple of people in the way who stared at her as she ran past into the long passageway. Tree had no choice but to run after her boss, pushing past the same group of people to keep up with her.
"Excuse mee! I'm sorry, I just need to get to my friend-"
"Sorry, excuse me! Coming through! Oops, I'm sorry," she says repeatedly, not even noticing she bumped into Lily, because she finally spots Karlie a few feet ahead.
Taylor quickens her pace and holds in a squeal, "Karlieeee", she says almost tackling the taller girl.
"Thank god! I though't you'd already left," Her arm wraps around Karlie's neck as Karlie's own reaches for her waist without even flinching or looking to see who it was, "Of course not! Not without congratulating you, so, Congratulations Tay!!"
"So many people have said that to me once we got backstage," Taylor jests clinging even harder on to the model, "but yours is the only one I was waiting to hear."
"Aww, baby! You're such a cheeseball!" Karlie laughs, squeezing Taylor's waist causing the singer to jump in surprise, "I'm so proud of you, I hope you know that. I love you."
The two slow down their pace, stopping in front of a door labeled to be their dressing room. They stand against the wall, still holding on to each other; letting their friends and other people pass them by, before turning face-to-face.
"Do you really have to go so soon? Stay with us a bit for the party! Let's have one drink, it'll be fun! Promise," Taylor pleads, her blue eyes twinkling mischievously as she stares up into Karlie's light green orbs.
"Babe, you know it's my Welcome Week at NYU and I already missed the first orientation. I wish I didn't have to, but, I really need to go back to school," Karlie smiles sadly, "I promise to call once I land and tell you all about what happens, okay?"
Looking around to see they weren't in view of any cameras or unwanted people, Karlie bends forward and kisses the top of Taylor's head.
Taylor closes her eyes and sighs, knowing this will be the last few minutes she'll have alone with Karlie in a while, "Take the plane, okay? I'll have Tree go with you, so you're not alone on the way there. I love you so much, thank you for being here with me."
"And I love you so much, you worry-wort!" Karlie giggles as she kisses Taylor's forehead, "Don't worry, you can make it up to me by taking me to school on my first day!"
Their eyes light up at the idea; Taylor grinning like she already has something planned, "I think I just might," and she nuzzles her face into Karlie's neck, breathing in her scent before breaking up their embrace.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Taylor boops Karlie on the nose, before Karlie leans in quickly and gives her a soft, short kiss on the lips that causes both of them to blush.
"Thank you for always being here for me, babe."
"I got you, Tay. Whether it's skipping out on Brazil, flying out to London, or coming straight from Rome- I'll always be here for you. You're my girl."
