a/n: that perfect moment in my mind wherein Taylor was having an amazing snow day up in Colorado with Karlie (and Austin). 💕❄️☃

...and because musical joke/puns are life, especially during the holidays. Fight me. 😏😛 #RealTalk #TruthTea

...also, part 1 of a holiday thing..MAYBE?

//

Wintertime was Taylor's favorite time of the year, and this year's was no different. It was made even more memorable by the fact that she'd just gotten back from the last leg of her tour and was now free to spend time with Karlie, her family, and friends.

This year, she booked a cabin lodge up in Colorado for the holiday weekend in hopes of spending time together with Karlie and the rest of the Swifts, before heading off to St. Louis to celebrate with the Klosses as well.

The place and the moment itself was picturesque; a dark-wood cabin and the surrounding mountains and forests blanketed by a thick layer of white. Not to mention, her parents keeping warm by the fire while she, her brother, and girlfriend were all bundled up and playing in the snow. All accompanied by the ambient sounds of nature around them plus the christmas music and holiday cheer in the air.

"Knock, knock," Taylor says suddenly, momentarily quieting their singing along.

"Who's there?" Karlie asks tentatively as Austin rolls his eyes.

"BB-8," the older girl answers in a serious tone as her twinkling eyes and smile from ear-to-ear give her away.

"BB-8 who?" Karlie asks, now reluctantly. She can already hear the 'dad joke' of the holidays coming from her girlfriend's mouth.

"I really can't stay; BB-8's cold outside," Taylor sings out, laughing at her own joke. Meanwhile her girlfriend and brother stand exchanging glances with each other and back to her, clearly used to her antics.

"Oh baby, no," Karlie groans jokingly. Her cheeks turn bright red as she shakes her head and looks on at Taylor, unaffected by how unamused her audience was with the joke.

Austin even goes as far as tossing a snowball directly at Taylor with a matching unamused expression on his face, "That was lame, Teffy."

"Was not, Austin! You're just a tough crowd!" Taylor counters defensively. She sticks her tongue out at her brother before chucking a snowball back his way.

All three of them return to their task of snowman building along to a shuffled holiday song playlist from Taylor's phone.

The song playing on the speakers changes and Austin begins to hum along to the tune of 'Frosty the Snowman' with Karlie joining in.

"Ooh wait! I have a good one!" Taylor exclaims, jumping up and down with glee. "Knock, knock!"

"Who's there?" Karlie and Austin reply.

"Klossy," Taylor answers, a big smile already on her face. Her cheeks turn a bright red, partly from the cold and from trying to hold in her laugh.

"Klossy who?" the two ask, their eyebrows raised and Karlie's arms folded in front of her chest; ready for a lame comeback by Taylor.

"Klossy the snowman," Taylor begins to sing, "was a jolly, Sunshine soul! With a cookie tin and her angel wings, and her laptop full of codes!"

Karlie stares at her with her mouth agape while Austin actually rolls on the snow-covered mountain floor, laughing, "Oh man! She got you there, Karlie! That was actually pretty good!"

"I can't believe I'm in love with a total dork!" Karlie says finally after recovering from her initial shock.

"Hey! I'm no dork!" Taylor answers, feigning offense.

"Are too," Karlie replies, matter-of-factly, eyebrows raised. "May I point out the Rude-olph light up beanie you're wearing too?"

"Am not!"

"Are too," Austin nods and laughs, agreeing.

"I am not!" Taylor huffs. She pouts at Karlie, directing her answers to the taller girl, "Whatever, you love me anyway."

Karlie walks over to stand in front of Taylor, squeezing her tight and leaning in close to whisper, "Yup. I do...love you so so so much!" She closes the space between them then, bringing their lips together in a lengthy and passionate kiss.
