Natsu X Lucy : My Guardian Dragon Slayer

A/N : So here is a Natsu X Lucy One-Shot. Sorry if anyone is a little out of character, I am really trying to get better but they all have such strangely unique and confusing personalities that I'm trying to understand them xD

Lucy was not finding any of this amusing. In fact, she wanted nothing more than to smack the smile off of the creepy guy's face. Her brown eyes were narrowed in defiance at the man, who only held that same smug smile. God did she want to smack him.

Why am I always the one who gets kidnapped?  She groans internally at her predicament.

Currently she was tied up by a stupid dark guild who wanted to test their strength against the infamous Salamander. They believed they had what it took to beat him, and if they did beat him, then no one would dare mess with them. Lucy had laughed at that, telling them they really had some loose screws if they thought they could beat Natsu. That had earned her a punch to the face and a kick in the gut, but she just laughed some more to mess with them.

Though she put up a brave front, her entire body was forcing itself not to tremble in fear, and the only thought running through her head was;

Natsu, please save me.

She watched the dark guild members, some of them mumbling in excitement, which is when Lucy knew Natsu was coming. More-so because she could hear him screaming right before he kicked down the door, hands flaming.

"WHICH ONE OF YOU TOOK LUCY?" He yelled angrily, his black eyes dark and full of anger. He was not going to let them get away with this.

Without any kind of warning, the dark guild attacked. Natsu swung a fist and caught the face of a guild member, sending him flying back and into a wall, leaving a huge crack in the brick from the force of his angered blow.

Another charged at him, but Natsu's flaming foot came into contact with his gut and he, too, went flying. One by one the dark guild members were defeated while Natsu only grew in power because of one thing: his anger. Especially when he saw what they had done to her. The way her brown eyes shimmered with broken hope, the way her smile was on her beaten face, making her look like she finally saw the light of day after being in the dark for so long.

Flaming with anger - quite literally - Natsu walked slowly, menacingly, toward the guy who was staying by Lucy to make sure she didn't escape. Slow as the sun rising, a devilish smirk formed on Natsu's lips, eyes dark with anger. He looked like Death.

"The way I see it, you have two options. Run off like the coward you are, or my vote, get burned to a crisp." He was going to beat the guy senseless regardless. He had messed with Lucy. That was a big mistake on their part. Those damn jerks were going to get it now.

The guy tried to run, but Natsu was faster.

"FIRE DRAGON ROAR!" He shouted, letting the dangerous amount of flames leave his lips and spiral toward his cowering opponent. That knocked the guy down for what would probably be a good while. He didn't look too strong anyways. Happy was with Natsu, but he was already untying Lucy (which was weird because the entire time Natsu hadn't even remembered his little buddy being anywhere near him before he crashed through the door).

The pink-haired dragon slayer ran over to Lucy and, in one swift motion, yanked her into a tight embrace. "You're alright!" He says happily, letting out a breath of relief as his terrifying anger faded into joyous relief.

"Natsu..." Lucy merely mumbled, her aching body collapsing into Natsu's arms, as she was too weak to hold herself up anymore. The blonde Celestial wizard was too weak. Those jerks hadn't just beat her up, they had used magic to deliver a few of their blows as well. "My Guardian Dragon Slayer.." She mumbles out, weakly gripping onto the scarf that Igneel had given him.

"Just hold on Luce, you're gonna be alright. I'll be damned if I let anything happen to you." Natsu grounds out, but he was almost in tears. Lucy looked pretty bad. "Happy, go tell the others of her state. We'll be right behind you buddy." He says, watching his best friend nod and then fly off.

"I always need saving, don't I?" Lucy mused, though her voice was slightly cracking and her face contorted into pain.

"Hush now. Don't wear yourself out too much. Take it easy, will ya?" Natsu replies as he picks her up, slipping his right hand under the crease under her knees and his left hand around her back in a bridal style carrying position. He looked down at Lucy, and his eyes met hers for a moment. The warmth held in her eyes was almost too much for the hot-headed dragon slayer, so he looked up and began to walk. Her hads rested weakly on his chest, and she would occasionally slip up and let a whimper of pain past her lips. It only angered Natsu - not at her of course - but at himself, for not being there in time.

He had been so consumed with beating the dark guild's most powerful member that he had momentarily forgotten that they had Lucy. Natsu had been - not that he'd ever admit it - losing, that is until the idiot reminded him that they had the blonde mage, and began saying all of the things they planned on doing to her and had done to her. Even mentioning the "pathetic blind faith she had" in Natsu's ability to save her. It had really caused him to unleash his fury.

Right now, though, none of that mattered. Instead he focused on the time he had right now with her as he walked with her in his arms, back to his guildmates. Lucy meant everything to him. If anything ever happened to her, he would just die. You couldn't have Team Natsu without Lucy. Because even though there was Gray, Erza, and Wendy now, it started out with Natsu and Lucy (plus a certain winged blue cat, but everyone always tended to forget him anyways).

"Don't worry Luce, no one will ever lay a finger on you again. Promise." Natsu tells her sleeping figure as he nears his friends, holding her to him as much as he could. He would always be there for her. Always being her Guardian Dragon Slayer. And if anyone ever tried to take her away from him, Natsu would show them the consequence of messing with a Dragon.

A/N: Yeah, this one is a bit short but I ran out of ideas on where to go with it but oh well it's here omfg xD
